The great thing about the Jays hitting coaches, you know they can't hit or score runs, so no need to stay up and watch a shitfest. Could you imagine paying Ohtani 700M to be a DH who only hit soft groundballs. Jays hitting coaches really wanted to make that transformation

Wasn’t he great again last year? Even peripherals?? Such an odd decline

 

His stuff has been in a steady decline for like 3 years. Command was a major factor in his rebound last Season. But now it seems like he's basically willing the Baseball through the strikezone to get outs. Like there isn't huge dips in velo but quality of the pitches overall. And it's been extremely noticeable.

Ideally these changes should be in place before the break to allow Click or whomever is going to take over as GM some time to figure things out ahead of the trade deadline. Absolute trash.

This kind of action just isn't effective. If we were actually in the playoff race, I could see them fire the manager as a wake up message or a way to "try something new". At this point, it's not really worth it. I believe very few GM's are fired in season. You CERTAINLY don't do that the day before the draft, or this close to the trade deadline.
