Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 So we’re doing some kind of Schneider/Horwitz platoon now?? This front office just cannot get out of their own way
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Richards is opening with Francis as the bulk guy.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 So we’re doing some kind of Schneider/Horwitz platoon now?? This front office just cannot get out of their own way Unfortunately yes. They won’t be perma benching KK so it will be KK/Varsho in the OF against RHP, and JS would rather take a bullet to the chest than bench a vetrin, so Springer and Turner likely won’t be sacrificed either. Hard to see this team actually playing all the young guys at once very often. Probably will cycle the playing time around with vets getting the preferred treatment.
harvey16 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Is Bichette hurt or just a rest day?

We’ve sat one of our best hitters twice this week even with an offday on Thursday. When the offense is so bad our own pitchers are calling them out. Braindead front office at times
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 You're good enough to leadoff but you're going to be platooned (Babe) You're good enough to bat cleanup but you'll be DFA'd (Vogelbach) You're good enough to bat leadoff but you'll stay in AAA (Horowitz) You're good enough to bat 2nd but can't DH on your days off from the field (Jansen) Something is clearly wrong with the decision making process on this team.

How about “ Hey Babe and Ernie, you two have been hogging all the hits the last two games. Take a seat.” I have no idea what algorithms the Jays use to put a lineup together, but a dose of recency bias doesn’t seem like it would hurt very much.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 I guess the Jays front office hasn't noticed that Babe has reverse splits yet.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Didn't even cross my mind that Horwitz would somehow take playing time from Schneider What a complete f***ing joke this organization has been Disarray. No idea what they are doing at any turn.

When the offense is so bad our own pitchers are calling them out. Braindead front office at times Almost feels like this season is an intentional sabotage to force a rebuild but the president and GM only have 1-2 years left on their deals respectively so they have no incentive to do that. Sadly this might be what they feel will help them win games, which is terrifying if this FO is going to stick around long term.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 It's like they are doing everything in their power so that Babe doesn't succeed. It's madness. Hits better against righties....play him only against lefties Hits better when he plays second base.... play him exclusively in left field Hits better when he's not leadoff.... have him leadoff every game
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Horowitz Schneider Vlad Bo (probably should be flipped with Jansen but whatever) Jansen Varsho Turner Springer IKF Thats the common sense lineup to use but don't think we've seen it yet nor do i expect to see it ever. Guys struggle, they move down... guys perform well, they move up. Easy peasy
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Is Bichette hurt or just a rest day? Hurt. He has calf soreness.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Latest News Jun 15, 2024 12:15 PM EDT Bichette is absent from Saturday's lineup against the Guardians as a result of right calf soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. Analysis Bichette has been playing through the calf issue for a few games, so the team decided to give him a day off Saturday. Manager John Schneider said the team will keep an eye on how the shortstop is feeling ahead of Sunday's series finale with Cleveland before making a decision on when he'll be back in the lineup.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Siddal going off on the idiocy of the Jays lineup decisions too lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Varshoo and Springer!!! Gotta love this Jays lineup, not sure what yall are crying for lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Need to see the exit velocity on that Barger hit lol
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 I am assuming that John Schneider has final say on his lineup card. As I said at the end of last seasons playoff debacle: the man is an oaf.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Not really a fan of having IKF bunt here. He's been hitting well.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Wow this has been kind of beautiful in it's own way
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Sac bunt with KK on deck hitting .200 a good decision?
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 I don’t really understand IKF bunting for KK to try to drive in runs. Seems like there’s a much better chance of IKF getting a hit.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Man, Horowitz's hitting reminds me of Ben Revere. Just a bunch of soft hits in the perfect spots.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 And Jansen rips it but right at Ramirez
ColdPint Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Not that he has had much work at 3rd, but Carlos Febles has made good reads all year.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 If any of my friends came dressed up as Macho Man for a Jays game, he's staying home lol
