So we’re doing some kind of Schneider/Horwitz platoon now??

This front office just cannot get out of their own way

Unfortunately yes. They won’t be perma benching KK so it will be KK/Varsho in the OF against RHP, and JS would rather take a bullet to the chest than bench a vetrin, so Springer and Turner likely won’t be sacrificed either. Hard to see this team actually playing all the young guys at once very often. Probably will cycle the playing time around with vets getting the preferred treatment.

So ridiculous. We’ve sat one of our best hitters twice this week even with an offday on Thursday. When the offense is so bad our own pitchers are calling them out.

You're good enough to leadoff but you're going to be platooned (Babe)

You're good enough to bat cleanup but you'll be DFA'd (Vogelbach)

You're good enough to bat leadoff but you'll stay in AAA (Horowitz)

You're good enough to bat 2nd but can't DH on your days off from the field (Jansen)

Something is clearly wrong with the decision making process on this team.

How about “ Hey Babe and Ernie, you two have been hogging all the hits the last two games. Take a seat.”

I have no idea what algorithms the Jays use to put a lineup together, but a dose of recency bias doesn’t seem like it would hurt very much.

Didn't even cross my mind that Horwitz would somehow take playing time from Schneider

What a complete f***ing joke this organization has been

Disarray. No idea what they are doing at any turn.

Almost feels like this season is an intentional sabotage to force a rebuild but the president and GM only have 1-2 years left on their deals respectively so they have no incentive to do that. Sadly this might be what they feel will help them win games, which is terrifying if this FO is going to stick around long term.

It's like they are doing everything in their power so that Babe doesn't succeed. It's madness.

Hits better against righties....play him only against lefties

Hits better when he plays second base.... play him exclusively in left field

Hits better when he's not leadoff.... have him leadoff every game

Horowitz

Schneider

Vlad

Bo (probably should be flipped with Jansen but whatever)

Jansen

Varsho

Turner

Springer

IKF

Thats the common sense lineup to use but don't think we've seen it yet nor do i expect to see it ever. Guys struggle, they move down... guys perform well, they move up. Easy peasy

Bichette is absent from Saturday's lineup against the Guardians as a result of right calf soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Analysis

Bichette has been playing through the calf issue for a few games, so the team decided to give him a day off Saturday. Manager John Schneider said the team will keep an eye on how the shortstop is feeling ahead of Sunday's series finale with Cleveland before making a decision on when he'll be back in the lineup.

I am assuming that John Schneider has final say on his lineup card. As I said at the end of last seasons playoff debacle: the man is an oaf.
