Laika Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2024 Author Posted May 8, 2024 oh wow Bonita is hitting 6th, that's a big drop

The complacency on this team is something else
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 KK is mase of glass, Varsho a bulldog lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Glad we're keeping one of our best hitters in the 7th spot. This franchise is trying very hard to suppress Schneider when his play has warranted him being in the lineup everyday and batting higher sooner
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Lineup going forward should be something like: 1. Schneider 2. Varsho 3. Turner 4. Jansen 5. Vlad 6. Kirk 7. Springer 8. Bichette 9. Biggio/IKF/Clement

Its egregious at this point.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Springer hurt (thank god, please IL him) Vlad classic 114 mph single didn't watch but I would guess it had a 2 degree launch angle or something Instead of homerun contest should have top exit velocities contest. Prediction for today Vlad Guerrero Jr. 116 mph 10 degrees line out center field Vlad Guerrero Jr. 114 mph 8 degrees single (already happened) Vlad Guerrero Jr. 111 mph -4 degrees GIDP Vlad Guerrero Jr 109 mph 33 degrees 410 feet out deep center field Kyle Schwarber 108 mph 33 degrees 415 feet HR center field Kyle Schwarber 105 mph 32 degrees 399 feed HR right field.

Biggio/IKF/Clement That's exactly what I've been wanting for over a few weeks. Not saying that it'll fix everything but at least you're doing your job as a manager to try to wake up your supposed best hitters.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 The tale of two Sniders/Schneiders: We were all peeing ourselves with excitement over 1st rounder 14th pick overall Travis Snider and his awesome power waiting to come up and he absolutely flopped. Davis Schneider 28th round with no expectations, and all this kid does is make s*** happen and play hard. 146 wRC+. Prospects...
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 It must be JS making the lineups because pencil pushing spreadsheet stat nerds aren't this stupid. They are that stupid. Shulman said many times today that the Jays are slowing prioritizing "who is performing" vs "what the matchup numbers" show them. Performance should almost always take precendence over what historical numbers show. Players arent robots who always perform in a linear fashion. Also helps explain why they kept tossing Swanson out there when it was clear he wasn't right...
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Thank you Vlad! Springer and Vlad manufactured a run!!
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2024 Author Posted May 8, 2024 Vlad RBI single! 115 mph distance, 255 feet that's a 420 foot dinger with the right launch angle!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Nice job by George there! Looked 5 years younger lol
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Springer has hit like s*** but nobody can say he hasn't played hard and well in RF. That was a nice play.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 George heard all of us s***-talking him
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 A soft swing from Harper still takes the ball to the wall lol

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Nola has been mediocre this year with a 4.44 FIP. His avg FB down almost 2 MPH. Was listening to Phillies broadcast. Concern about the 7/172 deal through 2030.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Not sure if anyone's said this before but "WE NEED MORE OFFENSE"
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Is it his back (oblique)? Seemed so.
