Imagine how pissed Rogers gotta be that they invested all this money into the team and the ball park will be completely empty in the summer if things don't turn around immediately.

The only great GM the Jays ever had is Pat Gillick. Wouldn't everyone be shedding tears, is my point?

Even Gillick got dubbed "Stand Pat" when the late 80's Jays were relatively competitive but couldn't get over the hump.

He made a risky big deal trading for Alomar & Carter which shook it up. Made a lot of other solid moves as well and impact picks like Olerud came up.

When Alomar finally hit that HR off Eck it all shifted. He even got Fernandez back to play SS in '93 for another WS ring.

Point being rolling back the same team with JT and IKF never made a lot of sense.

Jansen one of the only guys having consistently great at bats rn. He’s absolutely smoking liners

He should have been extended long before his walk year.

Didn't have the bullpen being a complete tire fire on my bingo card, that's for sure.

I actually kinda guessed it lol. Seems every year something goes catastrophically wrong. I was predicting the offense would be great this year but the BP would s*** the bed…. I was half right

I thought his stuff DID look much better

I agree. He would look great great for a bit then he would lose his control for a few batters but the hitters were completely whiffing on his slider which I haven't seen for a year. He looked much worse in the 4th inning then the first three. They probably should have yanked him at the first sign of trouble when his pitch count started to get up there but I guess that would be easier to do if the bullpen didn't totally suck.

I mean he still sucked but if he can touch 96 and throw that slider he's worth a couple more starts

Then when Y Rod is back, decision

Could be a piggyback situation with Manoah and Yrod, since he won’t be able to throw too many innings

If Manoah can be good for 3-4 innings per start, then follow up with Yrod for 2-3 innings. Frankenstein 5th starter

We traded our second best catcher and didn't extend our best catcher

We had 3, and then there was one. And that one was fat with a slow bat.

Varsho is on a projected pace for like 5 WAR

Maybe the Moreno trade was great!

That’s 100% on Atkins and pundits will roast him as one of the major mistakes as the Jays GM.

f***ing horrible managing of this situation!

Can anyone tell me a team in the recent history of MLB that had three mid twenty year old all star calibre core players turn into flaming bags of dog s*** over the course of 1-2 seasons?

Manoah, Vlad, Kirk and Bo combined for what....30ish fWAR over the 2021 and 2022 seasons?

Look at them now....it's incredible. No front office in the league could plan for that.

lol. Y'all knows WAR isn't linear for the season. I'll gladly take 3 though.

Hang in Jay. It’s rough times and people are venting in a period where some difficult decisions might be here quicker than we anticipated. We are all just passionate Jays and baseball fans.

Yeah, as was I, lol. Hate seeing this s***, JS is an imbecile. I'm good.

"Projected pace" meaning add his rest of season projection to his current war

4.5 if you use ZiPS

Not one go down the Jays right now or any hardcore fans but management 🙄. I have to say this is somewhat humbling… as I was pissed when Shapiro let Alex Anthopolus walk over baseball operations decisions.

How has that f***ing worked out for you now Shapiro and Atkins and oh… Let’s not forget all the success Anthopulos has had since in Atlanta and continued playoff caliber team every year and a World Series.

Both you twats roasted him saying he mis-managed prospect assets and put Jays behind a future rebuild. Look at our assets now and playoff caliber team!!!

Tell me this you two smug f***ers…. coming from Cleveland acting like you were the second coming of Jesus, acting all upright and proper with super confidence in your interviews, how does it feel now to see your Grand plan all coming crashing down!!!

What excuse you have now?!

Time for both of you to be replaced! New vision new core group for 2027!

I did not know that. Thanks for explaining.

His current wRC+ is 130. I'd take the under on 105 for the season all said and done. If he moves to LF with KK back in CF more, 3.5 or under I'd make a bet on. Solid season and a good step up from 2.1 in 2023.

Why's Bo's name in here? He's been dogshit the first 5 weeks here and scuffling, but his name doesn't belong in here, the rest have been pain, no doubt though.

Bo last 3 seasons = 4.9, 4.9 and 4 WAR. He has not been an issue really.

Everyone including the FO needs to get over Vlad and 2021. Its 2024. He isn't that player now and may never be again. The last 2 seasons have been steady decline.

We have to make some decisions and deal with it. Its not easy, but neither is a Wander Franco being suspended by MLB for the Rays. Whether its injury, free agency, performance, prospects not panning out, or freak tragedies like Jose Fernandez's speedboat accident, teams have to adapt and adjust to reality.

The real question is... why the f*** did they invest so much into the Florida complex with results like these. Clearly this is all bad luck or they're doing something extremely wrong in this organization top down. Regardless, it sucks for the fans and Rogers who gotta own this.

Has Atkins extended anyone that wasn't arb eligible?

Has there been anyone even worthy of extending? This was Statkins entire plan from the start because we were supposed to have "waves of talent" coming into replace the talent when they got too expensive.

A lot of promises with hundreds of millions spent on the Florida Complex, Rogers Center renovations, 200M payroll with very little results to show for it.
