San Diego Padres open a 3-game series at Petco Park Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET.

 

The Padres are returning home after 2 straight road series. They went 4-2 in those games, losing their last outing 1-0 to the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday. San Diego is 5-5 straight up at home and 11-10 on the run line this season.

 

The Blue Jays had their 4-game winning streak snapped in a 6-4 series-finale loss to the New York Yankees Wednesday. They have won 4 of their last 5 and 6 of their last 9. Toronto is 10-9 on the run line this season.

Varsho is truly an elite OF defender. Almost every game he seems to make a play with low catch probability.
