General question about players throwing food/water. Your thoughts?

Just watching Manoah putting a banana peel on Ricky T after somebody (off screen so don't know who) threw peanuts. And thinking about Vladdy throwing water and such on players being interviewed. Just wondering what people think of it. Personally I hate it and find it insulting and if I was manager I'd bench anyone who did it.

Baseball is a slow game with a very long season.

 

I don't mind the players goofing off and having a loose clubhouse. When they are losing it can be frustrating as a fan, but baseball is kind of like golf. The harder you try doesn't necessarily mean the better you'll do. And quite often, being tense can lead to worse results if you start to get in your head and get frustrated.

You're right, obviously I'm in the minority but I think we won't be winners unless we see a winning attitude and players that rip a guy that did something and gets noticed are not winners. And as for mphenhef, I'm no Yankee fan. But they don't accept losing.

So what? If you have a sense of humor you can't be a winner? Josh Donaldson used to prank teammates - was he not a winner? I agree with you that teammates should hold each other accountable, but I also think that's better done in the clubhouse, not on camera.

I'd say the pranks have gotten kind of boring. When's the last time you saw a hot foot in the dugout? Or someone like Pedro teasing the fans above the dugout with a string tied to a ball? Even the "fake" pranks like the commercial with Sanchez and Stroman turning on the sprinklers in the ballpark (you can bet that was based on an actual prank at some point).

I saw garbage being put on a player today and I didn't find it funny. I follow more of a Crash Davis attitude. If Manoah proved something in the majors then he can do this and I will laugh. I just see a loser trying to degrade another player. From what I've seen of Manoah, I look forward to him being gone.
