Vlad can just be so much better than he is. It's in there you see it. The underlying numbers show it as well. He's just gotta figure it out. Attack better pitches to hit. Jose Bautista demolished Baseball's for 6 straight years but he wasn't hitting everything that came over the plate. He had an elite eye in those years as well. Walked a ton. Stopped swinging at s*** and that is when he fully blossomed into a Elite Power Hitter.

You didn't address your real need at the Deadline. A need that was need since the off-season quite frankly. The Jays were always a bat short. And it's really hurting now. They just don't hit enough period and don't have enough power to compensate.

Atkins trade for Varsho clearly hampered the Jays in a huge way.

 

With Danny being oft injured, Kirk is the only option.

 

Moreno would have been the other option.

 

Then Gurriel could have made a difference consistently offensively.
