This is one of the first losses where I can really, really blame roster construction and the managers moves.

Get your head's out of your asses!

Lack of a RHH OF or 2B is troublesome

Still can't believe Espinal stood there while looking at the runner going home. No idea what he was thinking. Like he blanked out completely

Analytics states you must pull your starters after 5 innings and use 5 relievers per game. It's all about what ChatGPT says to do.

typical Shapiro and Atkins season good but not great, shuffle a few pieces here and there, borrow from one area at expense of another, nothing big at deadline

We have a great 2b, and we pulled him for a sub par MFrr.. That was the obvious move for me, to just shift Merrifield to 2b and Varsho goes into LF. I just didn't get it and don't get it.

The reason I felt that way at the time is because Witt is very steady and makes all the routine plays and is a heads up smart player. Espinal, is exactly what I saw happen..

pretty much Shapiro said Toronto was reliant on making gut based instinctual decisions and he needed to change the culture to accepting data driven decisions, problem is you need both, and he has no instincts, Ivy League lawyer, never a ballplayer and expects the manager to follow the script.

Yep. Whit should have gone to 2B

I dont know what's up with espinal he's an excellent defensive infielder but this year his heads not in it,

Espinal is not a great fielder anymore sadly... His OAA is -3 as a second baseman and is worse than Whit as a second baseman.

Swanson has been pretty bad for awhile, why did Ross pick seattles worst reliever to trade teo for. They could of kept the dog s*** prospect we got if we got Munoz or some s***

We basically play Espinal for his defensive ability, but he's been a pretty ass at second base. There's no point in playing him anymore if he's not good at both batting and fielding.

I don't think Swanson was bad as the stat line shows tonight. If Chappy fielded the ball and Vladdy and Espinal didn't make a silly mistake, it would've been a victory.

Or, you intentionally walk the batter with 1 out to play for the dbl play with the #9 hitter up.

Yup, I would go further and say none, as the current roster is constructed.

Swanson hasn't really been anything special. He's pretty much a solid middle reliever under club control, that's it. He isn't an elite setup or late inning guy.

Again, shows you this FO isn't that great at assessing or targeting elite BP pieces. We have a ton of middle relievers, this team needed an elite late inning reliever to pair with Romano. Let's hope Green can be that guy once he comes back!

I thought the Jays bullpen was one of the best in baseball lately? What happened?

Cherry picking stats will do that
