JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Vladdy a double with faceplant
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 Holy s*** we got a double. Now can they score this run?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I'm happy to see a double, but that's exactly the kind of pitch that should have been murdered into the LF stands.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 That's the way to do it boys, chip away.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 Run on Julio all day long. Never hesitate
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Absolutely, Julio has a lot of tools, but the arm accuracy is not one of them. Throw did beat him, but was well offline
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 it doesn't matter as much as people think, they will just go out and hire another Martinez. I guess at best it would be a new voice, hitting approaches ...etc go to the heart of the organizations' hitting philosophy. But I agree the struggles are real and something needs to be done For big things it won't change much...but the dont K and weak contact crap could go away. Better situational hitting can be preached cause this team Ks every time someone is on 3rd somehow. Being more selective can be pushed as well which would help Vlad and Bo, but especially the "role" players. The team as a whole sucks at taking walks imo
BlueJays Verified Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Holy s***. This ump is f***ing trash
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Jansen. Kirk sucks If I had my choice I'd take Kirk because of his superior receiving skills, alot of the game calling (and planning) isn't even in the catchers hands, still done from the dugout. Reading bats is another matter and much more difficult to judge.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 So who calls a better game, Jansen or Kirk? Chris Black, tweeted the metric last week, it's Kirk just slightly over Jano, and they've both been very good, so there's that.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 So i guess every reply is going to be from the drone cam from now on?

Thats for sure. 1 calls a good game but sucks at recieving/framing...the other can't call a good game, but is really good and recieving and framing. Kind of annoying lol

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Nope, Jansen is much better he leads Jansen in his framing numbers if that's what you referring to and he's also one of the best in the majors - gone down a little this season but that's more to do with not getting consistent playing time so 100% Kirk is the better receiver
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Run on Julio all day long. Never hesitate Cause of accuracy, I didn't know that?
Blue Jays Lurker 2023 Verified Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Barfsho never disappoints us. .188 .246 .235 And this season a magnificent .213 What was Ross Atkins smoking when he traded for this guy
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Can the Jays add some power at the deadline? Always needing 2-3 hits to score a run is annoying. At least it feels that way.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 So i guess every reply is going to be from the drone cam from now on? I hate that view - like did they test it out and ask people? no way anyone prefers that view over the regular cameras
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 The key difference between Kirk and Jansen game calling is the use of the fastball vs offspeed. It is interesting if they could use it to their advantage
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Nope, Jansen is much better Incorrect.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Incorrect. I would rather see Jansen catching in a deciding playoff game.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 KK home Runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I would rather see Jansen catching in a deciding playoff game. That'll likely be decided by who's on the bump.
