BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Conforto was also was pretty anti vaccine in the press. Not sure if vaccines are necessary anymore to be a Blue Jay but they might have been still last year. I like Nimmo a lot tbh. Conforto is decent but at 30 coming off a year long injury and he’s not exactly singing for peanuts with Scott Boras as his agent. He wasn’t worth the risk True. Whit wasn’t vaxxed either until trade. Who knows. It’s not peanuts trading Moreno either to get a LHH OF with plus D. No easy choices.
Blue Jays Lurker 2023 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 They can do almost everyday Players meeting but eventually the onus should be on the person who makes tough decisions. Ross Atkins seat should be way warmer by now
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Sell at deadline? There will be some moves probably but there’s now way this team is in any kind of fire sale.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Sell at deadline? Chapman and Kiermaier would be moved if they do
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Chapman and Kiermaier would be moved if they do Let’s just assume that’s the case…knowing the Jays luck this season both would get hurt 2 weeks before the deadline.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 f***in Varsho, only hits HR in scrub time. Great rip though
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Tying run at the plate…still in this
DCJaysF Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Why do I feel down 3 runs like we can come back here more then I did in other games down by less lol I feel like we have a solid chance to come back in this game. Also props to Varsho there to get to that elevated fastball. Guy just needs to hit down by 5 runs in the ninth so no pressure lol

The players themselves are all good.
JaysFan99 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 The Come Up Short Kids I’d definitely prioritize signing Bo over Vlady
el duque Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 not even swinging, Belt is disappointing
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Would be nice if vlad actually did f***ing something in a clutch situation, instead he lays down every f***ing time
Floortom Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Does Vlad even qualify as a superstar anymore?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Gonna take Vlad a few more games to get the timing back after the knee
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Oh boy this team really is in trouble.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Vlad is obviously not right mechanically. That swing looked like a rusty gate in the wind. No strength behind it at all. Just a long loopy mess.

Sorry boys. For frak sake though we could have won that one. But where we score 7 runs and lose that’s a pitching and defensive thing
ColdPint Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 How do you even evaluate Vladdy’s contract worth at this point? He hasn’t shown enough to be paid what he’s likely going to be looking for. I’d rather let another team make that 10 year $300 million dollar mistake.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Does Vlad even qualify as a superstar anymore? Star..yes. Superstar…nope.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Would be nice if vlad actually did f***ing something in a clutch situation, instead he lays down every f***ing time And he'll celebrate and trash talk like Muhammad Ali next time he does something.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Again though, this loss isn’t on the offense…pitching gave up 9. Can’t do that
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Gonna take Vlad a few more games to get the timing back after the knee He missed two games. If anything, that should have done him some good. The fact is that Vladdy just may be an above average player and not an elite star sadly. He still has time to change that but he needs to dig deep and understand what it actually takes.
DCJaysF Verified Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 The Vlad talk in this thread is ridiculous tbh. He’s slumping a little. Happens to every player in a season, even Mike Trout. His OPS+ on the season is still 132 even after this slump. League average is 100. Also he just turned 24, he’s a full year younger than Bo. Obviously we haven’t extended him yet cause we do want to see more data etc, and who knows what the contract offer would be, it will depend on his end of the year stats for sure. But should we sit him? Lol come on, he’s in a 10 day funk, you let your second best hitter play out of that. Vlad is still very very good. But yeah he might need a bit of time to pull out of this funk. But he still got a hit today. And he still will draw a lot of walks as teams don’t want to give in to him. Vlad is a star and likely still gonna be a superstar
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 His launch angle is better and a lot of his numbers are looking similar to his 48 homer 2021 season, not his 2022 season. He's getting unlucky, his xwOBA is much much higher than his wOBA. Agree with DCJaysF, he's also in a slump.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Gonna take Vlad a few more games to get the timing back after the knee I totally forgot you were the resident Vlad fanboy/apologist
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Again though, this loss isn’t on the offense…pitching gave up 9. Can’t do that Yeah that’s fair 7 runs should be enough most days
