G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Manoah really is our #5. He's not fooling anyone. Not sure how he pulled it off last year
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 How can you watch this series and not have your nerves broken.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 This is what happens when you need to rely on BABIP and weak contact to be a good pitcher. This is why strikeouts should always be king when fielding a rotation.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Not sure how he pulled it off last year BABIP luck.
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 And here I got ridiculed by a couple posters yesterday for suggesting the Jays could be in last place in the AL East! This team is a f*cking joke!!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 This is what happens when you need to rely on BABIP and weak contact to be a good pitcher. This is why strikeouts should always be king when fielding a rotation. Well thank God for Gausman and Kikuchi

Also, if you expect this FO to EVER prioritize strikeouts, then you won’t be happy.
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Also, John Schneider’s managing? Discuss.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Holy s*** If we started a best of 3 WC series tomorrow I'd want to see Gausman and Kikuchi start games 1 and 2, Bassitt or Berrios game 3 if needed and probably Bassitt Manoah just... No. Not right now. He needs to work on some things.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Good to see you all didnt watch the game as usual lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Manoah our 5th best pitcher lol He is right now I think good chance he isn't by mid season
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Manoah really is our #5. He's not fooling anyone. He fooled enough people to get a 6 part documentary series
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Great job by Manoah given the hit by liner and little league defense. Was great before the line drive and managed after
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 He is right now I think good chance he isn't by mid season You mean the season is longer than 6 weeks?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 The defense is killing us Like WTF Espinal
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Going to be interesting to see how the Sportsnet talking heads frame this series. Bo not looking too happy in dugout.

Also, if you expect this FO to EVER prioritize strikeouts, then you won’t be happy. Unfortunately, that seems to be correct with the rotation at least. Bassitt, Manoah, and even Berrios to an extent (8-9 K/9 prior to extension).
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 The defense is killing us Like WTF Espinal It’s more than just defence. Hitting is not there, pitching bad.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Unfortunately, that seems to be correct with the rotation at least. Bassitt, Manoah, and even Berrios to an extent (8-9 K/9 prior to extension). Its definitely an organizational choice. If we could develop pitching the way smart teams do, we would probably have done so already. However, i still think we make the playoffs this year.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I guess Schneider is waving the white flag with Bass in the game.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 It’s more than just defence. Hitting is not there, pitching bad. We scored a lot of runs in the last 3 games we lost.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Fenway the new Trop?? Wtf is going on here
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 That was going to be a strong single up the middle if it didn’t hit ASS..
