It's easy to get fooled when they pound it into the ground and the defense is positioned perfectly. But, you're right in that he hasn't had a lot of hard contact so far this season. only 11% hard hit rate.

That old stat is not really all that indicative of anything special. Scoring runs with 0 outs and 1 outs are just as important as with 2 outs. It's just another one of those things that drives narratives and stories about baseball but really dont mean anything to the game itself.
