Can’t keep everyone. And can’t force someone to sign an extension. We tried getting Semien longer term and he said no

If Belt is still whiffing a ton and looking overmatched after a month, and Barger is tearing up AAA, does Belt get punted for Barger, or is Belt's rope going to be much longer like say the ASB or the entire season?

 

He is pretty old, so it wouldn't be unheard of for 2022 to be more the real Belt now, rather than 2021.

Belt might just be completely washed.

 

 

Hasn't had 1 good swing all season and keeps swinging through 91 mph fastballs in the zone.

Chapman is a Boras guy. An extension was never going to happen unless the Jays offered him a massive FA overpay contract before this season, which they weren't going to do.

 

Just have to hope he has a 2018-19 type of season (so far so good), the team has a successful playoff run, and then take the comp pick.

Chapman showing you the power of a contract year. Those are the type of players you want on your team lol.

 

It's why I always want to sign guys who prefer a 1 year deal in free agency. That added motivation of generational wealth is what gets guys going (e.g. Semien, Ray).

Can Cavan Biggio's dad call the league office and ask them what the hell is going on with umps constantly screwing his son over?

 

Is this some sort of long held personal beef that they have with his father? What the hell is going on?
