John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 There's a Kirk and Belt joke in there somewhere, I'm sure of it. Red Sox sending the C squad it looks like so should be a nice tuneup for Manoah and whomever else pitches today.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Barger in left stands out. If he can increase his versatility, he's got a better chance of contributing this year (and other obvious statements...)

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Yeah, this Spring Training is really kind of boring when it comes to roster speculation. There's what ... 2 pen spots and 1 bench spot that really have any real conversation around them, and even then the conversation isn't very long. The 2 pen spots will be filled by Richards and White, unless Richards really stinks it up. White is a bit behind due to injury, so he may open on the IL temporarily so I guess that's a temporary spot that's available. And then it's whether or not Lukes or Lopez gets the last bench spot. Both have been fine so far. Bernard maybe has an outside chance at it, but he's not shown well yet. Beyond any of that, guys are just jockeying for position on plans D, E, F and further down the line.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 That's the sign of a good team. Yep. Boredom is good in this case
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Don't want to jinx it, but it's been a pretty good spring so far. Only real health concern is Vladdy. Even those hats are starting to grow on me.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Is Luis Rivera retarded??? That was legitimately the worst send i’ve ever seen Belt wasn’t even in the frame yet and the catcher had the ball loll

It's also possible that if one of Springer or KK goes down, he could come up and get some major at-bats in the outfield.

Has any team fired their 3rd base coach after spring training? Oh - and use another word man. Idiot works well.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Bichette crushed that. 108.5 EV | 453 FT Tied for the farthest HR of spring. He's just locked in, so is half the team lol.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I know spring training doesn't count, but f***, this team is looking REALLY good this spring.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Orelvis looks so much better at the plate so far this spring, a lot of good at bats. Pearson looked phenomenal that last inning.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 So do we hit them back?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Pop getting some swing and miss today.

Idiot works well. I personally find the term “Idiot” to be just as offensive 'Idiot' was formerly a technical term in legal and psychiatric contexts for some kinds of profound intellectual disability where the mental age is two years or less, and the person cannot guard themself against common physical dangers. The term was gradually replaced by 'profound mental retardation', which has since been replaced by other terms.[1] Along with terms like moron, imbecile, retard and cretin, its use to describe people with mental disabilities is considered archaic and offensive.[2] Moral idiocy refers to a moral disability. Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Zulu looked good. I liked the patience from Kirk and Belt. There's going to be an awful lot of guys on base for players like Chapman, Varsho, and Jansen.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Dumbass? "Luis Rivera makes too many bad calls", is fine.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Dumbass? Offensive to donkeys.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Jay Jackson still hasnt given up a run this spring. Might be in line for getting his contract purchased at some point this season if he can stay healthy in Buffalo.
