Isn't Aumont pitching in men's league in Ottawa? I know some boys from the Nepean Brewers and I thought they said they were facing him.

 

Wouldn't surprise me, I haven't played since moving here from Kitchener where I was playing in the Tri-City league for the Devil Rays (with two games called up to the Panthers lol).

I'm not saying it's biased or anything, but the umpiring has been truly awful in this WBC. It almost makes you appreciate MLB umpiring.

Ok I just looked at Canada's roster and I Whitt has definitely been saving his best relief arms. Not sure that I like the strategy but the corpses he's used so far miraculously got through 5 innings and he's got plenty of bullets left for the rest of this game.

 

He's got Brash available who is a legit relief ace in this format.

 

Then Curtis Taylor, Trevor Bridgen, Indigo Diaz and Cade Smith are also available and each of them had 10 K/9 or higher in AAA last year and all of them project pretty well.

 

So I think Canada definitely has a chance to win this game.

It's absolutely the right play every time. He's out by 6 feet with a halfway accurate throw. It's honestly a fairly routine play and cost us a run.

Keep the DP in order. even if he gets him the runner gets to scoring position. Had someone on the Red Sox done that and made a bad throw you'd be all over them for trying something so fundamentally wrong.

difference is simply that a team like Mexico can go to a bunch of fringe MLB players for relief pitching and Canada has to roll the dice with geezers and babies
