G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 How Mexican is Tellez anyway
Sorrow Verified Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Isn't Aumont pitching in men's league in Ottawa? I know some boys from the Nepean Brewers and I thought they said they were facing him. Wouldn't surprise me, I haven't played since moving here from Kitchener where I was playing in the Tri-City league for the Devil Rays (with two games called up to the Panthers lol).
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 How Mexican is Tellez anyway Grandpappy was el Mexicano and played in their pro baseball league way back when also. His mother was Jewish so he could also play for Israel.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Adrian Martinez MLB level pitcher but he has been destroyed in MLB and AAA since 2021 despite decent K-BB numbers f*** him up!
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 damn, hanging changeup and couldnt damage it.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Screwball from Martinez on that missed call. Sick pitch.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 How Mexican is Tellez anyway Pretty much not at all, like 3/4 of their team.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 I'm not saying it's biased or anything, but the umpiring has been truly awful in this WBC. It almost makes you appreciate MLB umpiring. These crews working are MLB umpires, lol...
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 These crews working are MLB umpires, lol... You don't notice it being particularly bad? So many missed calls in all of the games.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Ok I just looked at Canada's roster and I Whitt has definitely been saving his best relief arms. Not sure that I like the strategy but the corpses he's used so far miraculously got through 5 innings and he's got plenty of bullets left for the rest of this game. He's got Brash available who is a legit relief ace in this format. Then Curtis Taylor, Trevor Bridgen, Indigo Diaz and Cade Smith are also available and each of them had 10 K/9 or higher in AAA last year and all of them project pretty well. So I think Canada definitely has a chance to win this game.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 You don't notice it being particularly bad? So many missed calls in all of the games. Angel Hernandez had a banner game the other day, missed like 15 ball/strike calls or something
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 You don't notice it being particularly bad? So many missed calls in all of the games. Umpires are always bad, that's what I meant. A joke.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 all these walks... my god just make them swing ffs
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Walking the leadoff hitter, no bueno.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Albers is alright I guess. Crafty veteran lefty with some tricky stuff.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 That entire sequence was FUGLY!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 What the hell is Buck talking about? He had the runner dead to rights at third if he made a good throw.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Awe man.... rookie mistakes..
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 What the hell is Buck talking about? He had the runner dead to rights at third if he made a good throw. It's not the right play in a tight ballgame and you know it.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Another walk.... wtf boys Just in time for Aroz to do something good and put the game out of reach.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Maybe don't throw that pitch again
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 This announcer gets way too excited about super s***** outcomes. f*** him.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Or ... do and give up a bases loaded, bases clearing double... great. See you in 4 years I guess.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 It's not the right play in a tight ballgame and you know it. It's absolutely the right play every time. He's out by 6 feet with a halfway accurate throw. It's honestly a fairly routine play and cost us a run.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 It's absolutely the right play every time. He's out by 6 feet with a halfway accurate throw. It's honestly a fairly routine e play. Keep the DP in order. even if he gets him the runner gets to scoring position. Had someone on the Red Sox done that and made a bad throw you'd be all over them for trying something so fundamentally wrong.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 blech difference is simply that a team like Mexico can go to a bunch of fringe MLB players for relief pitching and Canada has to roll the dice with geezers and babies
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 What a gut punch. Ah well, maybe we'll get more than 1 or 2 major leaguers next time around.
