I agree that if he is 2021 Vlad rest of year that changes everything. We need some bombs.

We are 17th in the league in HR this year. Can't remember the last time we were in the bottom half of the league in power. It's nice that we have a more balanced attack this year, but it feels like we don't have a legitimate power bat anymore. No one comes up to the plate where I'm thinking there is a good chance of a HR here. We've almost swung to far in the other direction now.

Yeah doubt Belt ever hits 30 HR's. Chapman has before and is capable. Varsho has the potential to hit 30 HR's and he should do it hopefully sometime over his next 4 years here.

All 3 played in the West with big parks. Varsho was even projected to hit 30+ before the season by some models.

Yankee stadium, pesky pole, eutaw, these lefties could easily be hitting 30 in this division. Although its less games in those parks now so maybe it balances out differently

Wouldn't working on his pitching mechanics and overall stuff also help him to drop unnecessary weight as well? I don't see that the team has anything to lose by having Alek work on conditioning and overall pitching game at the same time with hopes of an eventual 2023 return unless you would prefer 2024 to be a guaranteed write-off.
