connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 So let's see if I have this right. For a team that was really offensively challenged in 2023 some of your preferred free agent targets include the likes of Josh Donaldson, Joey Votto and Austin Meadows. It’s like being a kid that needs toys on Xmas but not being sure how poor your parents are. You damper your expectations a bit.

You love picking arguments with other posters for no reason Max. I posted this days ago and you decide to respond to it at 2AM in the morning on a weekend. Sniffing and lurking for confrontations and arguments on the Blue Jays Message Board at 2AM in the morning. Pretty sad! You're one of the most condescending posters on this board and this type of response shows. It's because of posters like you why we hardly get any new members posting on here and why some other posters have decided to leave or post less. I really don't know what you're trying to prove. Did I ever say Josh Donaldson, Austin Meadows or Joey Votto should be the Jays first choice of bats they sign? You need to read my posts rather than twist my words around. I said I would roll the dice on them if they came cheap and if the Jays couldn't find any better options. Never suggested Atkins to sign them all as a first choice. But eh twist my words around so you can make a condescending remark towards me! You're really something else!

Instead he's sniffing out posts where I suggested some last roster spot cheap signings of Austin Meadows, Josh Donaldson or Joey Votto and turning my words around as if I was suggesting them to be all top targets for the Jays this offseason.

Don't even bother with Max. He's too busy rimming Ross to know any better. Some people just defend and argue just for the sake of it. Fact is that in eight years and with an upper tier payroll, this management team has accomplished nothing with no evidence of sustainable winning in the future.

Maybe mention these names in March then. Weird to bring up these names now.

At least some posters post names, instead of just s***ing on other people's ideas without the stones to post their own on a Blue Jays message board lmao.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 7/172 for Nola. Figured he had 6/150 for sure.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Nice good for the Phillies. I thought he was gonna end up in Atlanta
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Nice deal for both sides. Keeping Nola and Wheeler together at the top of the rotation his huge for the Phils
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 good contract for both sides
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 I don't find Nola to be that good, but that's because seemingly every time I bet the Phillies or under total runs when he was pitching, that ******** would blow up. So I'm a bit biased.

Maybe you aren't aware of this but there is more than 1 time zone in this world, so maybe I'm not posting at 2AM. Besides that, I'm not sure why this is of such concern to you if I'm up late on a weekend. Even my mother wouldn't be so concerned about that so I guess I should be thankful for your concern. I guess I just noticed that you kept railing on for signing primarily s***** hitters to boost the offense lately that I may have gotten confused about what you wanted the team to do. Seriously, the last 3 signings I recall you advocating for were for the likes of the 3 I listed, including a passionate defense about signing Josh Donaldson. I don't know if Atkins can afford to take many if any gambles on unlikely bounceback candidates this offseason given the pressing need to add offense to the lineup. He's done a good job signing short term free agents of this nature but all of the guys he signed had typically experienced only one rough season, including the likes of Semien, Belt and Kiermaier. Do you have proof of what time zone you were in last night? Like 2 credible witnesses and 2 references from each of them notarized that they would be credible. 2 references from each of them, so on.

The writers covering it and the common sense people had something near 6/150.

This is my common sense impression from watching him pitch and looking at his ERA btw
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Bidding could get pretty crazy on Yamamoto and Snell now. The Cards basically have to land one regardless of the cost.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Nola's deal at least makes sense. Dombrowski giving Taijuan Walker what he got last winter was a much more egregious decision.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Should be a cheap deal with a heavy start incentives contract. If he makes 30 starts that's worth like 15mill
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 AA being really aggressive on the market, gunna land a solid pitcher. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/11/braves-interested-in-sonny-gray.html
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I just read an article that Eloy was hot on the stove. There was only one comment on there from a Sox fan who said good riddance, and hopefully they could package Moncada’s sorry ass out of town with him. Would be an interesting deal that probably wouldn’t cost a ton.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Does Eloy Jimenez really fit this roster right now? So righthanded heavy, and dh and occassional Left Field. You might be able to get Moncada free, a year from now? no? whats your biggest priority in the offseason? Mine is filling Chappy, tradeing a great player in Bo for other needs. LF is a hole and it pushes Varsho to CF. I like him being versatile to play any spot not locked into CF. Loseing Belt really hurts but it's replaceable or you could bring him back on a similiar deal. Guy can rake on 1 Leg. Reallllllllyyy compotent 1st baseman still.
