I’m not going to engage with a clear homophobe. It’s just apparent from that clip it’s not really something relevant to what hat he’ll choose

Dude don't lead like that, lulz. The carrot was left untouched...

Like, a bag of dicks I could see... there's enough of a homeless population you could probably get a bag of dicks together in short order, but a dumptruck... that's some serious serial s***.

Never forget the time Chaim Bloom traded him to TB for Ronaldo Hernandez

Springs signs an extension with the Rays - 4 years, $31 million with a 2027 club option worth $15 million.

This is even better than when BTS posted it above.

Texas traded him too to the Sox for Sam Travis.

Seriously, wtf is it about Tampa that see a guy, get him for peanuts and turn him into a 1/2 starter within 2 seasons? f***ing withcraft.

Springs was great last year but there’s too much Nestor Cortes there for my liking. That is to say, it’s a lot of deception + smoke and mirrors but he’s probably still quite good, I just would be constantly afraid that he would get figured out and be a junk baller from there onwards. It’s Tampa though, they’ll find a way to perfectly hide him and squeeze out multiple 3 WAR seasons before flipping him for another prospect who turns into an ace with a year left to go in his deal before he finally becomes a pumpkin.

They obviously have certain stats they monitor closer than most, and then have a usage plan that works more often than most teams do. Someone smarter than me could probably find similarities to the guys that turned it around in Tampa and figure out what the obvious stats they are chasing are. Finding the usage changes (and possibly grip change) is the hard part. Funny how in in Toronto they give Pete Walker the credit, but in Tampa we know it's likely the front office. I like to believe there are wizards in our F.O. too

still can't believe Roy Halladay's screeching widow made his HOF plaque have no logo on the cap

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Makes my blood boil every time I think about it

actually it remains hard to believe that the Hall of Fame people even gave her a f***ing choice

Yeah the fact that she had any say in it whatsoever is just absurd. He was on record as to wanting to go in as a Blue Jay and frankly what does she know about baseball to the point that she gets to choose what cap a HoFer gets to wear?

She has zero credentials to make a decision like that. She clearly just enjoyed her time in Philadelphia more than she did in Toronto for personal reasons and that went into the decision. It also seems like because her and her kids are American that she felt like the Phillies could kiss her ass more easily moving forward. I don't have anything specific to point to in that instance but that was a general feeling I got at the time.

The Phillies are kind of classless for going along with it as well.

It's like when an acquaintance is needlessly and overly generous to the point it's awkward. In those instances the correct thing to do is politely decline.

The wife didn't respect her husband's wishes, but the HOF giving her the choice was a purely emotional move. They put themselves in the position of either making an egregious error or having a public dispute with a recently widowed woman.

What if she said something completely ridiculous like 'He grew up in Colorado, so he should go in with a Rockies hat'?

Since she was a widow no one wanted to offer any pushback at all. I think one reporter asked her a good question and he might have even had a couple of decent follow ups as well.

Instead of crying like a bunch of babies, will you guys just Mandela Effect Halladay's way into a Jays hat? Terminator's already half way there thinking he's in a Phillies hat. We are in the age of the internet. 99% of facts are what people believe. If you ask the average baseball fan out of New York or Boston or something, 99.9% chance they are going to say Halladay is in as a Jay. The only ones who know otherwise are all on this board, plus a few Phillies fans. Even people who literally just visited Cooperstown are going to say Halladay is in a Jays hat if they were interviewed on their way out.

I'll get it started. There are two players in the Hall of Fame with the Blue Jays hat on: Roberto Alomar and Roy Halladay.

This is a fact you believe. In the US, most fans will best remember Halladay for his no-hitter in the post-season and his brief time in the spotlight on a competitive team

AA gonna be disappointed even if he's happy for him

That was his right hand man according to all reports. In Toronto and Atlanta.

@JeffPassan

The Baltimore Orioles have acquired left-hander Cole Irvin in a trade with the Oakland A's, sources tell ESPN. Infield prospect Darell Hernaiz is headed back to the A's.

One more player is involved in this deal: Right-hander Kyle Virbitsky is going from the A's to the Orioles.

So, final deal:

Orioles get: LHP Cole Irvin and RHP Kyle Virbitsky

A's get: IF Darell Hernaiz
