His OPS is plummeting to below 800 which is mediocre for a power position. Combined with the LA and GIDP problems, I’d say the numbers are somewhat putrid. Definitely not extension worthy. How about trying S Horowitz at first ?

Dude refuses to understand that Vlad is literally the guy the needs to do damage. He is the guy you should not have excuses for.

 

He is our counterpart to Judge, JRam, Yordan, Goldy, Freeman, Soto/Machado, etc.

And him having that kind of horrendous pitch selection at the end of September during clutch RISP situations is not going to do s*** for us in playoffs.

 

Our playoff ambitions were built on this guy being an absolute powerhouse, a threat that every time he comes up - things can go seriously wrong for the opponents.

But, right now, they know how to pitch to him to get him to chase and if not, you can make a pretty safe bet, he'll groundout.

 

And if you point that out, he comes back with "omg he's so young; stop treating him like he's 35." or "omg why do they pitch Judge such meatballs but Vlad is away away away." I mention he should've mashed that 89 mph slider meatball and his reply "well he was sitting fastball" gtfo.

 

He has a wRC+ of 83 in September, yikes.
