peterkim Verified Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 start from starting pitchers 1.Kevin Gausman 2. Alex Manoah 3. Ross Stripling if we are winning or losing more than 5 runs Jose Berrios can do long relief line up 1. Springer- cf 2. Bichette- ss 3. Guerrero jr- 1b 4. Hernandez-RF 5.Gurriel Jr-Lf 6. Kirk-dh 7. chapman-3b 8. Biggio-2b 9. Jansen- c relief pitcher - Romo would be good for big game relief Richards - dont use him unless we lead by 4-5 runs Romano, Garcia- dont let them get too tired , use them efficiently
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Romo.... jesus f***ing christ
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Romo for sure And woukd OK if Alex Manoah pitches game 1 or gm two Edited September 28, 2022 by G-Snarls
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I'm going with Kelvin Gassman #1
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Nice insight peter! I personally would let Kikuchi start game 1. It would give our pitchers time to rest. Then go Stripling-Gausman for game 2, Romano if needed. For game 3 we go Manoah-Berrios with Cimbar and Mayza (righty/lefty) for the save.

Kirk is in the 4 and they have largely been that way the whole last part of the season. i don't see them changing now. It's also clear that they like Merrifield over Biggio right now, so my guess is that he is getting bulk time if he is still hitting. Romo is in the Mexican league right now and is no where near our roster. is that the joke part of this post or am I missing something?

Jays would easily be able to lock up the series with Gasuman and Manoah for Game 2 and 3!

Kikuchi wins game 1 then we have 2 chances to finish the series with Gausman or Berios

CBlake Verified Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 It will be interesting to see how they use the Baltimore to set up the rotation going into the Wild Card series? They are really going to have to be careful using a bull pen day in the final series. I guess a lot of it too will come down to if home field is still at stake or not.
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I think I would have Kirk batting 3rd as both Bichette and Kirk are rated as two of the best 2-strike hitters in baseball and move everyone else down one position. In the playoffs you need to get those 3 on base initially so others create the threat of damage with slugging.
keggy Verified Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 What about Alex Manoah though Alex can be the opener for all three games. If he goes 3 IP each game then 3+3+3 = 9.0 which is basically a complete game. Pitch Ken Gausman for inning 4-6. Then Berios inning 7-9. If Berios finishes the last 3 IP he gets credit for a SV. Than we can trade him in the offseason as a closer. We need cap space to sign Soto.
