Considering Springer's injury uncertainty and we needed someone to cover OF, and it was a literal last second trade, it leads me to believe they wanted to someone else like Happ from Cubs but couldn't get the deal done (no one could, Cubs probably had a high price).

 

Just because Atkins wants something doesn't mean the market is just going to bend over and give it to him.

It's indefensible.. Expanding the roster with Zimmer and Lawrence is another f***ing genius move. Not only is was Zimmer DFA'D and then reclaimed, he's the player to add to a September run? Meanwhile Lukes never even got a consideration in seeing a little time in the bigs. We need three catchers imo right now, but Moreno is more important to the Bisons apparently.
