Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Can’t ever win a series in Tampa. Ah well, i’ll take 1-1 with one game being a Kikuchi start. Not like they got blown out. Rays pitching is good. Hoping for a strong series in Minny
Dagagad Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Thank god the rays don’t have money. Such a well run team. Happy to get a split.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Bo is not hitting (at least he gets RBIs when needed) well Kirk is slumping Chapman hasn't looked good the last two games Espinal super slump mode Danny hasn't had good contact in a bit Springer injured Just Lourdes/Vladdy kicking right now, and that's going to hurt down this stretch. Better get it rolling soon.

RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Bo rocking a 79 wrc+ his last 181 at bats. Doing his best Grichuk impression for almost 2 months now. And thats before todays puke inducing performance. Forget dropping him in the lineup, would they dare to demote his ass to AAA?

Forget dropping him in the lineup, would they dare to demote his ass to AAA? Yuck. From just watching he seems to be hitting the ball better lately but he’s getting a lot of bad luck. A lot of line drives and deep flyouts to CF/RF, which usually means good things for him. He has some terrible at bats though, like in the 9th today. I think he’s ok hitting in the 6th spot until he shows he can have a better approach. Definitely shouldn’t be hitting top 4/5 at this point, he’s one of the worst hitters on the team stat-wise this year.

In that same time span as above his xBA is .234 while his actual BA is .243 Hes just been hitting like an actual replacement level scrub for almost 2 months now and this really cant be allowed to continue much longer.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 There needs to be a lineup shake-up. Bo should be hitting 7th next game and stay there until he hits his way up to deserve 4th.

Seems he has stopped hitting to RF and his wRC+ went from like 110 to below 100 now on the season. Might be trying to do too much instead of letting the hits happen and stick with his approach

Dude... I've been saying this for a month. Bo is untouchable in terms of moving around. He's not allowed to bat lower than 4th nor is he ever allowed to be moved off SS even for an inning.

How many times do we have to say this… it would not be beneficial to move Bo to another position mid-season in a competing year. I guarantee you he makes more errors at 2B than he would at SS if you just plopped him there with no practice. Same as what happened with Vlad moving from 3B to 1B without any practice

AMS528 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 That's amazingly tragic. The difference between the Jays at the Trop and the next lowest team is bigger than the difference from 2nd to 10th. And looking at the numbers, it's possible it's also bigger than the difference from 2nd-20th. That's impressive. Edit: Having now clicked on the link. The difference is the same as the 2nd-29th. Just inconceivably unlucky.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 And what team has the lowest BABIP league wide? I would hazard to guess that biased umpiring has influence on the results. edit - and Toronto has the 3rd highest BABIP league wide in 2022. Was high in 2021 also. The Trop results are an outlier.

Easy on the hyperbole, bro.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Always seem to struggle against Tampa pitching.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 No way in hell Bo should be batting 4th. more like 7th.
