I was never a fan of the Shatkins nickname. Shapiro will long outlast Atkins. As his job is way more than just the performance of the Baseball team. He’s been wanting to make these changes and renovations since he took over. So this must be an extremely exciting time for him.

 

This is a big trade deadline and stretch drive for Atkins though. It could go either way.

We should be extremely greatful they got 5 good innings from him. He was only at 67 pitches but we all know how things can go to s*** for him.

Would still prefer to see Kikuchi moved to the pen after deadline. Obviously it depends if they add a starter. I don’t want to see him making starts against the Yankees and Rays down the stretch. And I’m sure the Jays don’t either. He can pitch in mop up or if pitchers fail to go deep into games. Start him low leverage and depending how he looks. Give him a slightly larger role.

I agree, we should see what happens at the deadline. Unlike Beeston, I am pretty sure Shapiro is vetoing or approving trade deals and not just from a financial perspective..
