Ehjays Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Goddamn cursed red jerseys Its only the 2nd inning we can win this
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Everyone ready to slit their wrists in this gdt:( 9 out of 10! Hara-kiri time!
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 It’s ridiculous. Dude doesn’t have his A1 stuff, guys are f***ing up in the field and balls are finding holes. There isn’t anything super concerning about any of that from a gausman pov.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Everyone ready to slit their wrists in this gdt:( Well personally, it has to do with facing a possible postseason team (good chance of facing them in round 1 if we don't catch up to the Yankees, which we might not) without a 1/3 of their team and losing so atrociously - defensive errors cause no sunglasses, slap hits cause of bad shifting, possible tipping of Gausman's pitches, and unlucky DP with Kirk. Not to mention we lost the first game to their AAA relief corps.

Not to mention we lost the first game to their AAA relief corps. This is baseball. The dodgers got swept by the pirates this week. Also, our defensive numbers are much improved and we’ve been shifting like that all year…

Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Fine dude, this is an awesome game. I am thrilled to be watching this game. Lets party. There’s a difference between drawing conclusions from any one series and being happy. It’s not an either or situation.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 There’s a difference between drawing conclusions from any one series and being happy. It’s not an either or situation. Who is drawing conclusions? Did anyone in this thread say the season is over? Everyone is commenting about the game. Stop taking some moral high ground when there is none.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 See that 1-2 pitch to Larnach? Splitter. Larnach didn't swing. They know its coming. If he can throw it for strikes, then let him do it - but he's trying to use that splitter to K by sinking it and they aren't biting. Mariners didn't bite. Yeah.. Maybe Gausman should throw more splitters for strikes, on the first pitch especially.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Who is drawing conclusions? Did anyone in this thread say the season is over? Everyone is commenting about the game. Stop taking some moral high ground when there is none. Drawing conclusions means, and only means, saying the season is over. Good to know. Yes, by that definition no one is drawing conclusions . It’s not a moral high ground. It’s just pointing out that the whole ‘oh my god, we didn’t perform well against team A and that might mean something’ is f***ing dumb.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Who is drawing conclusions? Did anyone in this thread say the season is over? Everyone is commenting about the game. Stop taking some moral high ground when there is none. Correct, I have already staked it out
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Time for the conclusion to be drawn, if the playoffs start next week, Manoah goes Game 1, you dirty FIP lickers
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 That fastball was nasty - it ticked up a few inches near the end.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Stopped throwing the splitter completely… and looked good that inning. Interesting
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 The way they pitched Gordon was perfect. Get ahead with the slider/splitter, then high heat.
GogetemJays Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 The problem with the jays is that they continue to build a lineup that is based on home runs. They swing at pitches that are out of the zone continually and they hit a lot of ground balls. They have a ton of games left but it’s games like this where they look back and say that could have been the game to make the playoffs. They need more hitters who get on base consistently. I also think they need a new manager. Country club atmosphere. You see a lot of world series winning clubs taking things more seriously. I think they play around too much.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Well, you didn’t say the season was over so I won’t take the moral high ground and say that makes zero sense. You aren’t drawing any conclusions, after all.
GogetemJays Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 They really aren’t that good of a club at hitting. Hacking without a purpose. I hate the first pitch swing. Just shows immaturity.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Fine dude, this is an awesome game. I am thrilled to be watching this game. Lets party. Lol truth, stop policing peoples reactions in gdts
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 That’s just unbelievable hitting. I’m not sure how you stop that.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Why are they continuing to pitch this guy outside??
GogetemJays Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Who is getting tired of hearing Montoyo, say we just didn’t have it today?
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 This seems to happen a lot when Jansen is catching. Kirk is obviously the keeper
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Just a weird f***ing game. This is Baseball though. Sometimes you look dominant. Sometimes you look terrible.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 If that’s his ‘bad’ outing, I’ll take it. One hard hit ball that made it to the wall. Everything found holes and he had to throw 20 or so extra pitches because of really bad errors on routine outs. Some stuff to work on but not the end of the world.

Yeah he was clearly fighting himself but it wasn’t even that bad. Teo and Vlad missing 2 easy outs made things look a lot worse.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Siddall is banging on the "tipping pitches" drum. It honestly could just be that. The stat of Twins players only swinging at 20% of Splitters after swinging at 70% in the 1st 7 starts says it all. He's doing something that's easy to pick up.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
