Getting the hunch that Espinal's hot start was a bit more of a mirage than reality, the past month has been more atypical of a #8 hitter he doesn't really belong up at #2. But then again this lineup has four #8-9 hitters in it I guess they can't all bat in those slots.

 

I think most expect him to go back to the 8/9 spot. With everyone sucking at the plate, it makes sense to milk everything we can while the others hopefully regain their hitting skills.

Espinal's 2021 success looked to be an unrepeatable mirage but his early season 2022 succes was well earned as his batted ball metric backed up his results. He's slumping a bit at the moment so hopefully he can turn things around.
