So I was looking through the transaction history of a 20 Team Dynasty league I am in.

 

In early January of 2022 there was a trade with Altuve.

 

Lux and Civale for Altuve…

 

That is all I could find and note it was way prior to spring training this year.

Someone brought up Casas.

 

So far, the offers I've received are for Casas + for Altuve. IMO, it's well within the realm of possibility that 23 yr old Casas will be a more valuable 20 teamer asset than 33 yr old Altuve, NEXT YEAR.

 

So Spanky and I haven't be able to close the gap, he has Altuve > Casas in terms of fantasy value, I have Casas > Altuve.

 

No deal is not the end of the world, Casas can be my 1B beast for the next 10 years, Spanky's Altuve can decline and no longer be fantasy relevant in 3 years or so.

 

Have considered Casas straight up for Altuve, but it's tough in dynasty, as it is for MLB teams, to move top prospects.

It's all valuation mate, everyone values players differently. Value of 32 yr olds vs prospects is apples and oranges and quite subjective. If two owners can't align so be it.
