BTS Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 The pumping of unremarkable player Jeremy Pena would be annoying, except that it's always reversed into a Cody Bellinger troll, which I enjoy.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 What did you trade Adames for? Rendon for Adames, Baty, and high pick I believe
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Rendon for Adames, Baty, and high pick I believe Meh. I don't think Rendon is cooked yet. Everyone has made worse trades.

Like most of these guys, he was cooked as soon as he was given a ridiculous lifetime contract. So many of these guys fall off as soon as they get the huge payday guaranteed for years on end, they can hit .110 with 2 HRs they still make 30 million a year. You'd think the Angels would have learned something from Pujols but nope not a thing...
Ray Verified Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Phillies were up 7-1 heading into the 9th inning against the Mets at which point they had a 99.8% win probability. They gave up a 7 spot and ended up losing 8-7. That franchise is such a dumpster fire. First they botch their rebuild. Then they say f*** it and try to compete by buying players. Then they let go of Gabe Kapler who ends up leading the Giants to 107 wins. And finally, they hire Dave Dombrowski as GM, who cannot put together a bullpen to save his life (plus doesn’t really give a s*** about defense). The Mets on the other hand, are looking incredibly legit.

Wonder if Bryce ever sniffs the playoffs again or if this is a new Trout situation. Mets will be spending like Yankees 2.0 for the next while and the Braves are a solid young team.

No way they contend with the Mets or Braves in that division. They have some solid pieces but can't put together a solid full roster.

Long term, Braves are still the best team and set up the best in that division for the next 5 or so years. Mets will give them a run for their money this season for sure and will always spend big bucks to attract top FA's. Wish DeGrom was healthy for them.

Hard to argue that AA hasn't done a hell of a job in ATL. WS aside, they will be good for a sustained period with the quality of deals he has done.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Marlins in the NL East could be an interesting team as well. They have a nice young core of SP's and Jazz Chisholm looks like an exciting player. If only the organization had a better front office.

If AA left the Braves tomorrow, they're well positioned to be a top team for a sustained period. He's done a really good job in Atlanta and really happy for him! After AA left Toronto, they only had the 2016 season and then after the rebuild took place. Kind of interesting to look at the different approaches AA took with these two ball clubs. Toronto in 2015 in my opinion was a top World Series contender, just the Royals got in the way.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 So Collin McHugh, suxxxxxxxxx His expected stats are off the chart and very comparable to his stats when he killed it last year. He might be falling victim to the BABIP gods but this is strictly stat scouting and not having watched the games.
