I'm happy to see Biggio in the lineup but less so at 1B. Biggio in LF with Dickerson at DH would have been my move.

 

Who knows though, maybe Vlad needs the day off and the trust factor in Biggio out there at this stage is dicey.

I just want Dickersons noodle arm out of the OF. He has no business playing there. You could argue his pathetic throw was the deciding factor in our game 1 Loss to the Yanks.

Biggio wasn't hitting in Buffalo in a decent sample size but gets a start in a win or bust game.

 

Jansen starting over Kirk is also some brain dead s***. Kirk is not that bad defensively, or am I missing something? If Kirk wasn't dicked around while he was raking 4 weeks ago, we might be in a much better position today. I'll never understand all the love Jansen gets.

Plus, he has been murdering baseball since his return from injury, and Kirk 's latest stretch he is 4 for 48 with 3 walks.

 

of course you could argue that irregular playing time is a factor, but it's been a factor for both of them due to Montoyo's irrational love of McGuire. Seems like Chuckles is just going with the hottest hand right now.

Kirk has been ice cold for a long time now. Jansen has been solid for a while now, no issues with DJ starting.

 

Biggio is a head scratcher though.

Kirk rarely plays now. I wouldn't take his cold streak to mean much. If he plays once, then doesn't play again for a few days, rinse and repeat, then it gets harder to build any sort of rhythm. Keep in mind he also missed a lot of the season due to injury. Montoyo just wants to use all 3 catchers because like a good little league coach he wants to give everyone a chance. I don't think there is any method to his madness when it comes to the catchers.
