What a treat it is to watch Manoah pitch. The guy's cool as a cucumber out there.

Pearson clearly needs some of that cool composure

Been a long time since a pitcher came up mid season and given the boost Manoah has. Is Juan Guzman really the last pitcher to do this for the Jays? Can't think of anyone else.

In a contending year? Likely Guzman.

Rays are bringing in their A lineup, save for Margot. Rasmussen on the bump, he's pitched well, but our O right now...

1. Brandon Lowe (L) 2B

2. Austin Meadows (L) LF

3. Nelson Cruz ® DH

4. Ji-Man Choi (L) 1B

5. Randy Arozarena ® RF

6. Joey Wendle (L) SS

7. Yandy Diaz ® 3B

8. Manuel Margot ® CF

9. Mike Zunino ® C

Go Jays Go!!!

No, Kirk/Jansen or Grich???

Yeah can't say I like that either. With Grichuk hitting well lately I really don't see any reason to be playing Dickerson in center field either with the lack of familiarity with position he has displayed and factoring in that he's been struggling a bit at the plate lately.

I'm so sick of Montoyo managing us like we have the Rays roster. We should have the same lineup as last game!

And who the hell puts Dickerson ahead of Gurriel right now? Screw splitting up the lefties.

It's the stretch run, someone should tell Chuckles, lol.

"Grichuk has been good lately" ----- guys it was two good games, against Baltimore and the Rays depleted bullpen assortment with a LHP going in bulk. Before that, I guess he ran into a homer against the Yankees.

You still put the LHB in against a power RHP like Rasmussen.

Grichuk is a part time player now. In a platoon, sort of. This is how it should be managed.

On McGuire playing... Kirk has been playing a lot so I sort of get that. I suppose it's just getting Reese into a game against a tough looking RHP. Not sure I agree with that.

More posters asking for Grichuk in the lineup, I'm on the Grichuk bandwagon too right now. Montoyo doesn't seem to be aware of the synergy when a particular player is heating up. If we are getting hot Grichuk why not take advantage.

Also, it's a crime that Gurriel is not batting 6th. Guys been on fire in Sept yet Chuckles pencils him in 7th like clock work.

What is wrong with this guy? He doesn't get it. I am already dreading what kind of s*** he will pull In a potential wildcard game.

Thanks, Laika. On the insight. :D

Let go of the CoreDick!

McGuire and Dickerson are unlikely to be on the playoff roster. No reason for those guys to be playing. After if and when the the Jays build a 3 game WC lead or clinch a spot, then sure.

Rasmusssen has no discernible platoon splits so there really isn't any reason one of Jansen or Kirk should be in the lineup.

I love the over reaction of this board. 3 games and all of a sudden grich should be out there everyday. He is a platoon player and nothing else in my eyes maybe I'm the only one to see him play the last 3 months..... it's been disgusting. I'm sorry the only reason for him to be in the lineup should be against lefties

I find it very unlikely that Dickerson won't be on any playoff roster.

He is a few hundred PA against both LHB and RHB away from his pitcher platoon splits stabilizing but wtf are you even looking at when you say that?

????

LHB .326 wOBA

RHB .261 wOBA

We have watched Grichuk disappoint for multiple seasons and then a couple of multi-hit games in a row and all of a sudden everyone wants him playing over a LHB against a power righty lmao.

Hey man, if it's hot Grich, you ride it out. He's been on a roll, brosoff.

26 man roster in the playoffs so two need to go from the current team. Biggio probably makes it back and bumps someone too. So if nobody else gets hurt three need to go from the current roster.

McGuire is obvious. Borucki is obvious. Then I think they'd just lose Lamb for Biggio.

Valera has proven himself kind of useful.

Not sure if the above would be the typical bat - pitcher ratio though. Someone else can check.

No. Those days are over. There will be no more Grich riding. Ever.

Oh, you should look at his career. Increase the sample size, bro.

I missed that he had previous MLB experience at a quick glance, but even so that only adds an extra 15 innings to his totals. In 2020 he was torched by lefties to the tune of a .475 wOBA vs only .230 for righties, but that hasn't been the case up to this point in 2021. Either was Jays are in tough tonight and I still stand by my original point that they should be playing the hot hands instead of playing matchups here.

They aren't in that tough. It's Jose Berrios vs a guy who has mostly been a reliever. Rasmussen is due to get hit around. Dickerson and McGuire will both destroy him. Charlie is MOY.
