BlueJays Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 lmao yeesh. Tank season I guess If this means we will not see dumbtoyo next year, I'm all into it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Romano is going to be furious he didn't pitch the 10th. I hope he gives it to Charlie in the locker room.
Scion Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 I think we need to suspend any serious evaluations of this ball club until they get healthy. These losses are horrible, but it's honestly kind of remarkable that it took this long for all of the injured arms to start impacting the teams record. Not to mention the absences of: Kirk, Biggio and Springer.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 f***ing pathetic. Not much more to say
Jgarza868899 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Good chance they’ll be multiple games under .500 soon. The fall these last six days has been incredible

RobinThicc Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Just gotta try to survive as the bullpen tries to figure itself out.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Explain how it was an idiotic statement Are you serious? You said you hope we lose, right after we had tied it...
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 I have no idea if they will get healthy. If Springer and Kirk and some relievers get healthy, and Pearson and Manoah can make a decent transition to the majors, there is no doubt the Jays can make a good run in the last 100 games. I guess I'm just doubting this will happen. The 'Springer still not running' reports are just discouraging as these losses
Buster Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Springer. Can you miss that which you (almost) never had. We need to get used to this being Springer over his contact I bet.

Not to mention the absences of: Kirk, Biggio and Springer. This... including Strength of Schedule. We'll be alright. This stretch has been abysmal though, could've won 3/4 games, like pulling teeth.

These losses are horrible, but it's honestly kind of remarkable that it took this long for all of the injured arms to start impacting the teams record. Not to mention the absences of: Kirk, Biggio and Springer. We have been hit hard but every team is fighting injuries. It’s very rare for any team to not be missing some key pieces. Takes quality depth and some luck to overcome. We had some luck for awhile. Our pen was over achieving. Now the luck is gone. Thankfully I spared myself from watching since Espinals 3 strike bunt attempt the other night.
Scion Verified Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 No teams are healthy. We just don't have enough depth yet in the organization to keep up with a team like the Rays. Hopefully we keep trending in the right direction and get there soon. Sure, but there are degrees of health. This is easily the most banged up the Jays have been since I became a fan in the early 2000's. I'm probably forgetting a stretch or two that is comparable, but the point is that it is an outlier.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 At the end of the day, it's a game of regression. The bullpen wasn't as good as it had been and isn't as bad as it is now. The Jays have had the toughest schedule in the majors, have (likely) lost the most man games to important players and just suffered a historically bad bullpen meltdown and are still at .500. You can't blow a bunch of pen games if you aren't playing the other team closely for the most part and the Jays played what is now the #1 team in the AL very closely in this series. I know it's hard to see the light during stretches like this but chances are, this team is currently living what will be the worst point of their season. Even with all the negativity I'm still kinda expecting them to s*** all over the Yankees in this coming series.
