Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 There seems to be a lot of new posters on this board that take great joy in telling us all how bad the Jays are and they knew it all along. How about a little positivity. Considering all the injuries, they are doing quite well, considering it is only May. No doubt the team has performed well overall, given the injuries plus one of toughest schedules in the MLB. But the last few games have definitely sucked. It happens of course, but it still sucks. Hopefully the boys can turn it around tomorrow.

Anybody but Charlie Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Sometimes you watch a lot of baseball but never give in to that urge of wanting to sign up for something online so you can vent your frustration. That doesn't apply this season though, I can't sit by anymore and watch a super talented team get held back by one of the biggest idiots in baseball. I don't think management realized how fast this team would be ready to compete and are now stuck with a horrible manager who was nothing but a filler for the rebuilding years. The best thing for this team would be a string of losses that could hopefully push management to make that final move. This team isn't going anywhere with Charlie. He's not a manager of a championship contender. But I can't fathom cheering for losses even if it's for the benefit of our future. All we can hope for is that we turn this around quickly and management are smart enough to realize that they need a competent manager like a LaRusso to have any chance of making the playoffs.
Buster Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Question: would you prefer to get a legit catch or a legit manager?

Who's this LaRusso guy you speak of? Also, why would we hire a dinosaur as a manager? The point of moving on from Charlie would be to move away from outdated baseball ideologies.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Sheeeeit Gibby was the last I wanted to hear. lol Not U ****s!!!'

As my name implies, I would take many people over Charlie. I would take Gibbons in a heartbeat. At least he doesn't do things to make you lose. Yes he's not exactly bright, but he wasn't a negative. Charlie is stupid and he could cost you games

But the last few games have definitely sucked. It happens of course, but it still sucks. Hopefully the boys can turn it around tomorrow. These types of stretches fry my mind. It just seems the other teams in our division are working on another level. McClanahan comes up is pristine. Day one, pitch 1 is throwing strikes at 98 MPH looking like an ace. Pearson is going through his second year of growing pains, not able to throw strikes. And Pearson was the higher rated prospect on the big lists. Boston is able to keep J.D. Martinez healthy and productive, while Springer has played only 4 games. Forget about firing Charlie. Fire the high performance team and get a new one. If you could have guys healthy, and performing to their potential it's worth way more than Charlie's stupid moves cost us.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Also note McClanahan was pulled at 65 pitches! 65 mowing them down. Tampa is just on another level. Doesn't give a s*** what the rest of the world says. Keep the young pitchers mega rested, don't just talk high performance, but execute it.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Worst time to go into a slump with our 3 divisional rivals all on heaters.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Worst time to go into a slump with our 3 divisional rivals all on heaters. Yeah, not good.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Worst time to go into a slump with our 3 divisional rivals all on heaters. I know fans freak out at the smallest thing, but this is actually a pretty incredible terrible stretch They've lost 4 games to all three rivals in 4 days. 4 game losing streak for the Jays 4+ winning streaks for everyone else. Since the Jays are playing one of the teams, chances are are about 1/8 this will happen any day (assuming teams are evenly matched, which isn't quite true). Chances are 1/4096 that this could happen, I think. So this is a 1 out of every 30 years catastrophe.
