That was a classic umpshow moment. Umpire was mad that Stripling had no intention of swinging at anything remotely close, and rang him up on a pitch he likely knew was outside.

Don't even bother testing out robo umps in the minors. Just implement the technology today and work out the kinks as the season progresses. Seriously can't be worse than what we are seeing nowdays.

******** call but realistically he would have just grooved a fastball on the next pitch for a strikeout anyways

You never know, pitches get walked . There is no reason in 2021, for balls to be called strikes.

It really is, people still defend this is idiotic on so many levels.

But muh tradishins.

LETS JUST LET EVERY POSITION HAVE A DH MIRITE

Agreed 100%, just saying I was outraged til I realized the probable marginal loss from that missed call

No way could it be any worse. Even if the tech is off, it would be consistently off, not at random calls throughout the game.

If he wanted to groove a fastball down the middle he would have done so with 2 strikes, sometimes the pitcher gets psyched out when the guy at the plate has no intention of swinging. It's not a good enough reason for that garbage of a call.

Bo has looked better at SS lately.

Ever since he changed to throwing side arm. I think that's who he is naturally is but was asked to try and convert to over the top because it's a harder throw. I think throwing side arm sets him in a comfort level all around, and feels that he can make up for the less velocity with a quicker release. Thats just my take.

Gurriel looks like he's trying harder at the plate today.. Guess that talk with Montoyo's got him more focused.. Let's hope

I'm curious to see what the umpire grade for the HP ump will be after this game. I'm following on Gameday, and it seems like a lot of calls are wrong. More than the usual incompetence by HP umps.

Good to see Stripling locked in after the rocky start. Just gotta keep the game close so we can see some more late game heroics.

He's been good since the 2nd out of the game.
