Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Who is Erick Fedde? A guy who will be a footnote when Vladdy becomes the youngest player in history to have a 4 homer game following a 3 homer game...
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 All that Springer hate just for him to play a day later lol.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Vladdy Sr.'s whole Twitter timeline is about Junior and it's the most adorable thing.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Vladdy's got the third highest position player WAR in the majors at 1.7... until you remove the plate appearance qualifier and realize Byron Buxton is actually #2 and doesn't even show up because he hasn't played enough. 1.8 WAR for Buxton in 16 games and 63 plate appearances. Wild.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Open Gym style micro-documentary on Vladdy's 3-homer night. Vladdy talks about how if he can get locked in during BP, he's able to take that into games. Love this type of content and I wish the Blue Jays do it more often.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Springer will lead off and DH tonight, as per the TSN notification on my phone just now.

Wild. Aaaand Buxton went 5-for-5 today with a homer, two doubles and a stolen base, lmao. He's now leading the MLB in WAR with 2.3 but doesn't even show up on the leaderboards because he doesn't have enough plate appearances to qualify.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 I'm a little perplexed that they decided to option Rowdy considering he was starting to play well lately, especially for Travis Bergen. And Ryu seemed sure he wasn't going to miss a start but the 10-Day IL stint means he's at least going to miss one.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 We get Springer back but lose Ryu. Life isn't fair for a Jays fan. Also, really surprised that we're optioning Tellez. I get that we prefer to cycle people through the DH position so he'd lose a lot of plate appearances but thought he could provide some pinch hitting opportunities. Guess we prefer to get his bat back on track and don't want to waste anymore major league at bats for that to happen.

Remember its only a 10 day DL now, so he could come back fairly soon

And Ryu seemed sure he wasn't going to miss a start but the 10-Day IL stint means he's at least going to miss one. I guess if Springer is going to be DHing a lot then Rowdy doesn’t really have a spot on this team right now. Especially with Teoscar coming back soon.

Remember its only a 10 day DL now, so he could come back fairly soon It's the 10 day DL as of now but who knows what actually happens at the end of that period. Jays aren't the most transparent organization with injuries and with our luck, it's hard to be fully optimistic.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I foresee Rowdy becoming a really good player once he leaves.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 saskjaysfan gonna be BIG mad Hope Tellez is BIG mad, we will need him to come back big at some point

For a second I thought we were going behind the scene with Vlad Sr on the history of how Vlad jr was made
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 150 Million dollar man George Springer’s debut only available on SN1
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 150 Million dollar man George Springer’s debut only available on SN1 Lol yeah. Sportsnet is kind of a joke
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I'm also a little surprised Tellez got sent down. We need a LH bat hitting clean up imo. RHP with good sliders are going to pitch around Vladdy to get to the more vulnerable Grichuk.

RHP with good sliders are going to pitch around Vladdy to get to the more vulnerable Grichuk. I had the same reaction but seems like Springer will be DH for a little while. I'm guessing that as soon as Springer can play CF, Tellez will come back up. Although we're still losing out on his pinch hits during that time. But it should be better for his development to get full time playing time with the minor league season starting.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Lets hope Biggio can hit somewhere else other than the leadoff spot lol. He was just getting heated up. Adding Springer to the lineup is a fun replacement.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
