Montoyo is up to 3 games: in a row making decisions that I think are objectively bad:

 

game 1 - having Jansen bunt in extras with a runner on 2nd and none out (and keeping the bunt on with two strikes)

game 2 - using Panik to pinch hit for Jansen instead of Kirk, even though Kirk would have had to enter the game anyway if the team tied the game or took the lead

game 3 - Panik gets his first start of the season, and it's at DH instead of using him to give someone who has already played the field twice a breather

 

Panik should never start at DH. He can't hit, so every start should at least give someone else a day off playing defense.

This a manager feeling obligated to get a veteran player some abs early. I would have much rather had Davis in CF today with Gurriel at DH. Davis isn't that much younger than Panik. He's never had an extended opportunity. He played well last year and had a good spring. Let the kid play a little bit.
