Yes, I don't get it. Isn't the Dunedin complex the best place for him to be rehabbing?

From a pure physical healing standpoint that would certainly be true, but the mental aspect of being away from his teammates for several months would have a very detrimental effect on Springer mentally.

I am so tired of seeing Springer joking around in the dugout. I don't want to be reminded that he is there but not playing. We should have a pool to pick the date that he eventually is in the lineup.

Springer can F off by now, sick of his wussy fragile body. Get the F out there and play ffs:mad:

Do you think he wants to be injured? From reading between the lines from his earlier comments about being sick of being on the injured list I think Springer himself really pushed to get himself back to playing before he was fully healed, and how well did that turn out? Messing around with quad injuries and having players return before fully healthy inevitably leads to further injury and an even more prolonged absence. So unless what you want is for Springer to miss basically the entire season a little patience to allow him to utilize an intelligent rehabilitation process is fully warranted.

At this point we are talking a few weeks, not months. The below is from a week ago.

General manager Ross Atkins said Sunday that Springer (quad) is "very close" to beginning a rehab assignment, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

But if all he needs is time/rest for it to fully heal, then the Dunedin facilities wouldn't assist.

At this point then sure it's maybe only a few weeks time to a full return, but from the time where he reaggravated the quad strain to now is a much larger quantity of time.

He admitted he pushed them to at least DH him, big mistake on both sides.

Pretty sure most of us were screaming for him to not be rushed back... what do we know though, we’re just a bunch of fans.

They tried that already, it didn't go well.

Patrick Murphy 2 IP, 3 K, 0 BB, 0 H

Call the man up!

Instead of the power arm or Murphy who has already displayed the ability to get outs at the major league level, Tyler Saucedo has been called up. In further bad news AJ Cole has been moved to the 60 day IL with a left oblique strain. Funny how "neck soreness" turns out to be an oblique strain, I don't recall the two being connected in any way.

Atkins so desperate to old onto all these options. Worried about DFA'ing scrubs like Edwards and Beasley off the 40-man, just to active Murphy off the IL.

Murphy is clearly much better, get rid of the scrubs.

My thoughts exactly. The bullpen situation is abysmal and there are multiple guys in AAA who appear as though they may be legitimate options to help the major league squad. I'm assuming they have some sort of developmental milestones that need to be hit before giving any of the legitimate bullpen prospects a shot, but any number of guys from the Buffalo pen would likely be better than retreads such as Beasley and Edwards.

Despite our bullpen woes, this certainly is a fun team to watch. The future bodes well with this core.

It's posts like his that give the rest of us hockey fans a bad reputation.

You don't need anyone else's posts to hurt your reputation or to clarify that you are a hockey fan.

Isn't Murphy working his way back from injury? He also had to change his windup (although he should have had all winter to perfect that). They may just want to get him a few more clean innings in the minors before they bring him up. He should be on his way soon.

I know they are keeping Hatch and Kay stretched out in AAA - but you have to imagine they are discussing whether they need those 2 in the ML pen right now - and weighing the pro's and con's of something like that.

The windup change for Murphy was from summer 2019. He had 2019, 2020, and 2021 to work on that

Hatch most likley will come up soon as well if the bullpen spiral continues

I think Murphy is on a rehab assignment which means he has to be back with the club in the next couple of weeks if not sooner.

Kay ooof I dunno if he's going to be back anytime soon. Got lit up again today.

He's not the best player on this squad, but Teo has become my favourite player. He just seems like a super nice guy, great teammate, and his English is amazing, so he can bridge the gap between Spanish speaking and English speaking players on the roster, which I am 100% sure he does day in, day out. I love it when he goes off and has great days at the plate.

I realize that is a good example of a poorly written run-on sentence.

And yet I couldn't agree more :)

The nice thing about him though is that he obviously works hard, i don't want to compare him to EE but you look at where he was when he first came in to where he is now and the amount he cut down on chasing (still a bit there but not near as much) he as improved hugely.

Vladimir Guerrero's batting average, ISO, and BABIP are identical today.

Not that weird. Danny Jansen does this from time to time.

Okay but it's different when the identical numbers are .344 and not .000.

I dunno, I find something aesthetically pleasing about .175
