This may be right but I’m straining to hear a “D” and can’t hear it at all. And I listened to it 20 times. The conclusion people drew while watching it in real time is fair. It sure would be nice if that guy came forward and explained himself.

It's coerced demoralization. Once a person is demoralized, the facts mean nothing to them - they are unable to comprehend anything other than what they have been programmed to believe. This "story" is the perfect example of this in action.
