bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Imagine not wanting three Hall of Fame level hitters in favour of slap hitters who can steal a base. Imagine watching baseball for years, spending literally hundreds of hours of your life and not having a clue what makes a team and or player good.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Having a #1 and #2 hitter who can hit around .300 and steal lots of bases makes our team worse?? Its over man. Let it go lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Attaboy Birds! Booyah!!!
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 When the alternative is any of Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion or Josh Donaldson, yes, significantly Remember I said playoffs. EE hit career .220 in 34 games with just 4 dingers and 16 ribbies and an OPS of .695 in postseason. Bautista and Donaldson were better though. I'll concede that
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Not the hardest hit ball but those little bloop line drives have a higher xBA than most of his crushed groundballs.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Who needs to catch pop ups when you get RBIs like that lol
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Vladdy's run threat created a run. LOL
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Vlad wreaking HAVOC on the bases. 200 IQ plays.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Thanks Sanchez, ya big dummy.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Does Vladdy think he's playing Little League? If that throw was on the mark, he's out easily. But hey, we'll take it lol

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Vlad Jr.'s Baserunning = 1, Gary Sanchez's Defense = 0

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 These dingleberry's don't realize if the Jays beat the Yanks in the next two they can catch the pinstripes?
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 You realize these fellas face the best pitching during the PS, no? How about that Joey Bat Flip? Edwins walk-off HR in the WC game? That doesnt change the fact EE's postseason stats were s***. I repeat, that Jays team was unbalanced and too much geared towards the homerun. If you wanna see a nice balanced team have a look at the 2015 Royals, they had everything, high average and power hitters, and also guys who could run the bases. They also had a good bench IIRC. Anywho, I dont wanna get more off-topic. Back to the game
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 what an absolute mess
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 These cross ups can't happen, holy f***.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Gurriel doesn't always get the best reads but at least he finishes the play a good deal of the time it seems.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 coulda been a lot worse
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I'm a bit confused, is the first round of the playoffs in the California/Texas bubble, or is the alds/nlds onwards?
