Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Jansen, Panik and Shaw start
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Clint Frazier and his 163 wRC+ hitting 9th. I think Boone's been near Charlie a little too long.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Man, looking at the Yankees lineup makes me miss Donaldson, Bautista and Edwin. Those 3 were the scariest dudes to pitch to. Wonder if our current guys can ever get to that level.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Let's see how Jansen responds tonight.

Our team back then was too much geared towards the homerun, and when you face world class pitching in a WS homeruns arent always gonna be there

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I know you mean but Bautista, Donaldson and EE all had excellent OBP's. He was dead wrong, lol. Rather dumn to be honest.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Ah c'mon.. f*** off already Vladdy.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Future gold Glover at first base.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 I know you mean but Bautista, Donaldson and EE all had excellent OBP's In the regular season yeah, but IIRC they were swinging for the fences a lot in the playoffs. But that then also comes down to Gibby who needs to read these guys the riot act and tell them to stop doing that
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Vlad is just a f***ing disaster defensively. Pop ups existed at third base too, he had to take two steps to his right.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Well, one thing is for certain, Ray has excellent stuff. Imagine he has a streak of command with all his pitches in the playoffs? s*** could get interesting.

Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 lol... you're killing me. I think you know what I mean Spanky, I'd rather have a few .300 hitters who can steal bases mixed in with some power hitters. We didnt have that during our playoff run. Team was totally geared towards the homerun It's not too late to delete this post I will not

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Imagine not wanting three Hall of Fame level hitters in favour of slap hitters who can steal a base.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 So you want objectively worse hitters, makes sense Having a #1 and #2 hitter who can hit around .300 and steal lots of bases makes our team worse??
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Buck likes to set himself up to look stupid

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Having a #1 and #2 hitter who can hit around .300 and steal bases makes our team worse?? When the alternative is any of Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion or Josh Donaldson, yes, significantly.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 That was a filthy hop, thanks baseball Gods!
