Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Decent inning Walker. FFS lets put together some good ABs here! We have had this kid on the ropes and let him off so far. We need a W today. Vlad looks lost. Every hitter on the team looks lost lately...
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Every hitter on the team looks lost lately... Can't argue with that....other that Gurriel Jr.
goldbug103 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Same ole s*** from Vladdy, cannot even hit a ball in the air everything is drilled to the god dam ground!!! Message should be sent to him that come in out of shape in spring training and you start in AAA until you prove anything! Every pitcher is is pitching him in the lower part of the strike zone and they know he will hit it on the ground every f***ing time!!! See how Harper can reach low and pull a ball to the outfield 3-4 times this series, Vladdy cannot get his body or swing in that position period due to lack of range of motion. Agreed Fatty has a serious mechanical flaw in his swing which appears to be sustainable. He rarely makes good flyball contact. The batted ball profile is dreadful. Adjustments are required for which better conditioning is required. I don’t think he’ll make it though. Some of it is mental and he appears just too immature. Is it common for hitters to OPS 1.0000 in AAA then completely fail at the top level ?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Great at bat by Biggio with nothing to show for it

It was a 2 strike change up down and away. That's going to induce a grounder from most hitters in baseball It was a good pitch. His last AB he overswung at the first pitch and straightened up and pulled off. The rest of his swings were very good. Vlad does not have a serious mechanical flaw in his swing. He's overswinging and pulling off pitches, but he's conscious of that. Losing weight is going to help him.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 just got under it...damn....so close to being out twice that inning.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I actually found the fanatic's popcorn bit pretty funny....I know I'm a nerd.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 That was a very nice catch. Hope he is ok. Very very hoping.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Why don’t these f***ing parks have padding on the walls seriously
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 great work by Walker..give him another inning please....thank goodness Teo is ok.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Might we actually see Walker get through 6IP?
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Regardless of Vladdy's struggle he should be batting 7th and we would get more value out of his bat in that position for the time being. New Lineup for playoffs based on Today's hitting: 1. Biggio 2B 2. Panick DH 3. Bichette SS 4. Gurriel LF 5. Hernandez RF 6. Shaw 3B 7. Guerrero 1B 8. Grichuk CF 9. Jansen C My belief is Panick will see more pitches to walk or get on base and in a 7-8-9 pinch hit role his position could be vital to swap out ahead of the sluggers with a stolen base attempt with Villar or Davis.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Need something from Grichuk and Vladdy man. Its been too long!
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 great job by grichuk there...couldn't have a strike out there.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 get the damn ball in the air Vladdy!!!
