Well, Roark will have more value next season as over 162 games you need someone who can stay healthy and give you 5 innings, but he is not someone you want out there with 20+ games left and every game mattering.

lots of people on this board that it was a great signing! Granted I didn't like the signing because I didn't think we'd then go out and get a real starter and I was wrong we went out and got Ryu. That made the signing a lot more palatable in my mind because it's not my money. I just wanted us to sign a top starter and we did. I did predict a FIP north of 5 for Roark. He's north of 6 right now..lol.

I remember a lot of people thinking the second year was a team option. I remember at the time thinking that. It was atleast speculated. Absolutely stunned he got not only a second year guaranteed but at that price.

Dickey's Blue Jays career was pretty good.

If Roark pitches as well as Dickey did from 2013-16, we'd be doing back flips. The Dickster was annoying as hell to watch, but he was an average innings eater who could have stretches when he's really good. My guess is Roark won't come anywhere near that.
