Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I think we will score 10 tonight
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 lol.....yes let's defend dumb decisions because. Regular thing with Montardo I am saying it doesn't matter over the context of winning or losing this game. It is a comment to those saying that Montoyo is throwing the game.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Over a season I don't want to see Biggio batting 8th and costing him PA's I dont think even Montoyo is dumb enough to bat Mr. Biggsleworth 8th over an entire season..............then again!! Over a game it could work out great for the Jays. Yarborough seldom gets to 26 batters faced. Third time through Biggio will see a different pitcher and maybe that is what they want I'll become a monkey's uncle if it all works out for Montoyo and we win the game (and Jansen drives home the winning run)

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I couldn't care less if a manager picked his lineup out of a hat for a game or two. It isn't going to matter But why not try to put your team in the best position to win every night? Isn't that what he's paid to do? Hat lineups don't put the team in the best position.

Hat lineups don't put the team in the best position. I've spent the past 5 years following the Rays closely. They had 152 different batting orders last year. 13 different batters batting lead-off, 26 different players batting 9th. All based not on handedness but a lot of data coming in from the front office. Batting orders aren't going to make or break a team.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 It's still stupid AF, man. Exactly...holy s*** I agreed with Spanky....2020 stays f***ed

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 The Rays announcers just called this the “George Constanza” lineup when talking about Biggio batting 8th.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 lefties hit better buntoyo says idc lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Lol what in the hell is this lineup
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 The Rays announcers just called this the “George Constanza” lineup when talking about Biggio batting 8th. lol Bizzaro world lineup.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 How can you be late on an 82mph fastball (or changeup)??
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 so far it's not looking great
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 late on 84, chasing changeups in the dirt. I hate Yarborough.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Someone needs to get the Blue Jays a new computer. This one is broken.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Lineup working just as planned so far. 4D chess.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I dont think hitters are picking up Yarbrough's fastballs. These things are sitters and they're all swinging through them
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Strikes out the side. That worked well so far.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Lol Buck trying to say a “computer” came up with this lineup because its so bizarre. Nope, just Montoyo being an idiot
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I am saying it doesn't matter over the context of winning or losing this game. It is a comment to those saying that Montoyo is throwing the game.[/quoteuch This is you playing the manager doesn't matter card and one game doesn't matter. The Angels could bat Mike trout 9th and still win a game. The more they did it eventually it would cost them games. Montoyo's had several bad lineups. They are starting to add up. You never know what game it's going to be where such a ridiculous decision costs you a game. It could be game one, it could be 10. It's like drinking and driving. There's a good chance you drink too much and drive home you'll make it without getting a DUI or getting in an accident. That doesn't mean you should ever do it. The more you do it, eventually a horrible outcome will happen.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 when your on a 5 game streak it's a good thing to mess around with the lineup
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 when your on a 5 game streak it's a good thing to mess around with the lineup Yeah that’s the most confusing part for me, it seemed like they finally had a stable lineup that was working for over a week (even in that Miami loss) And then Charlie goes and changes it because “Yarbrough is tough against us”
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 We should get Lowe when gets expensive for the Rays.
doorknob Verified Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Did one of those cardboard fans throw the home run ball back onto the field? Lol.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Shoemaker gives up way too many homeruns
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I'm surprised Lowe is batting 2nd. Shouldn't he bat 8th?
