Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Alford is just happy to be at the shows
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Can someone tell Buck that Grichuk and Shaw did NOT go back to back. Dan's too nice of a guy apparently lol.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Great walk by Vlad. How can you call a strike 6 feet off the plate like wtf
doorknob Verified Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Angel you fatass go see an optometrist already
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 if I was the Orioles I would be pissed that last pitch was a strike for vlad
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 That means he runs about 4.3 to 4.4 second 40 yards. Thats world class speed From everything we know hes a sprinter level runner but doesn’t always automatically translate on a Baseball field. Base stealing and Outfield reads require instincts. He also doesn’t get on 1B a lot. Just gotta find the best ways to use his speed. Montoyo has sucked using him so far.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 It's hard to believe how good Grichuk's approach at the plate is right now. Takes two borderline pitches then crushes a mistake opposite field to the wall. We've seen this before. He's just hot. He won't be hot forever. But leave it to Buck to talk about how he's changed his approach and he's a new hitter now. Pretty sure Buck says the exact same thing every year, only to be proven wrong every year.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Never count out a Blue Jays season before we face the Orioles!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 He should have struck out but that was a great AB. Hopefully that can get Drury going.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Alford can't hit the fastball
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Que Buck on the 'how to pitch with the lead' speech. Pitch to contact, pitch to the score.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 You can tell his arm is cold again. Came out missing with the fastball just like in the first inning and throwing 95-96. The long inning was a double-edged sword.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Why the f*** are you dicking around with the nine hitter up 7-3
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Que Buck on the 'how to pitch with the lead' speech. Pitch to contact, pitch to the score. 3 minutes later "this is where you have to pitch to the scoreboard"
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Keep throwing your slider kid.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Someone get a hold of this freaking pitch selection
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Just sit slider on Pearson if its in the strikezone swing lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 It's true though. Everyone thought Vlad and Pearson were elite prospects who would hit the ground running in the majors. Both look like they should be in the minors. Hey bro... I can't hide the rainbows'
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Apparently our pitching coach is trash
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Someone get a hold of this freaking pitch selection If you watched the game, you'd know he's throwing it way more today because he can't locate the fastball at all.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Why the f*** are you dicking around with the nine hitter up 7-3 Keep throwing your slider kid. Someone get a hold of this freaking pitch selection I don't understand why it's so hard for you guys to understand that he has zero command of the fastball. He got cold after the long inning and was missing all over the place again, so he goes to the breaking ball which he has a bit more feel for. He was becoming visibly frustrated with his fastball misses and threw one as slow as 93 in order to get one in for a strike, and still missed. Pearson throwing fastballs all over the place at 93-94 isn't going to help his development.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Team gets a lead. What you want to do is walk the 9 hitter and then throw a hanger. Not the best night for Vlad or Nate. Let’s hold the lead.
