You can’t f***ing walk Brinson. Hes like arguably a pitcher hitting. But he runs like a Greyhound!

I mean we still have a shot if we get out of this. Runner at second with Bo and the best hitters coming up. Sounds like a good time.

Been saying that on this board for 3 years.... Mostly fell on deaf ears.....

I also believe you said he was a starter

We look like such a badly coached team, which we are.

rivera should have never stopped Grichuk...he should have been waiving him around watching the through....you can give the late stop sign.

Sucks that this was the most runs they scored by far and they still lost... lets hope the offense stays awake for the next few weeks

I still believe that... I believe he is. I think he is better then Thorton... as one example of a guy in the rotation.

If you think this is anywhere near his true talent as a reliever you would be a fool to move him. I said the same thing about Hader. If you can get 2 wins out of him in relief you do it as I don't think he is a sure thing to do that as a starter

Thornton sucks as a starter....I'd give Borucki a chance. He showed well as a starter. His stuff looks better now than when he was pretty good as a starter. He needs to get another look. Usually a guy has to fail as a starter before he's moved to the bullpen.

Chicken or the egg? Does his stuff look this good because he has improved or does his stuff look this good because he knows he doesn't have to pitch the next inning. Personally I believe this is a throw away season for the Jays so I couldn't care less if they tried it...but if there was one person in that front office that was sure he could reach back for 96 in the 5th inning...he would be starting

Borucki is hurt a lot. Probably best to leave him in the pen if what he’s shown so far is legit. I’d move Thornton to the pen as well. Hatch is the one to test in the rotation, especially if the Jays fall further out of it in the next couple of weeks.

Borucki seems perfect in the bullpen. Wouldn’t consider a move back to the rotation for him. Last thing we need to do is try to strech him out in the hope he can be at best a solid backend starter when he can be a potentially dominant reliever. If they didn’t have any other options maybe you make that decision but the minor league depth is starting to look promising.

You're missing it, lol

I don’t mind revisiting the Borucki to rotation experiment if someone goes down and we need a starter. Health is the primary concern. But if Montoyo won’t even let them face more than 3 batters and throw 20 pitches every 72 hours, it’s hard to see him getting the opportunity before Hatch and Buckets.

Let’s step it up, see how Borucki can do in 2 or 3 IP instead of Waguespack. If he looks dominant then we at least owe him a chance. But like others have said, if he’s ultimately a lights-out 2 WAR lefty reliever there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s a very valuable asset.

My take on it is that when he was in the rotation, he led the team or was tied in QS ICR. He was up there anyway. Some might find the QS a dinosaur stat, however, it does two things. It makes your pen better since now you don't have to expose shittier middle relief guys to get to your set up and closer guys, Two, if your starter is only allowing three runs, your team is still in the ball game.

I understand the injury and durability concerns. However, there are a lot of really good SPs out there who have been injured multiple times and stay as SPs. The only time he was a SP, he gave us a lot of 6 innings of quality pitching which is rare in this day and age even with some of big names.

He also did all those QS against really good teams in the AL East ballparks in a regular season where the hitting had already caught up to the pitching (I think his first start was late June/early July).

Hence, I say let him dictate if he can stay a starter or if he has to go to the pen with his performance that he has actually accomplished and not based on projections or suspicions.

I'd argue "Quality start" is simply an opinion on an arbitrary group of stats rather than a stat on its own. It's a pretty awful way to measure anything.

Dave Stieb?

I wasn’t alive yet when he threw those but yes him as well. Although he did end up getting his no hitter.

3b Anderson over Shaw X 1000

Vilar is one of the better SS

1B Aguilar is a season removed from 35 hrs

Alcantra is really good (COVID)

E Hernandez is good and up and coming. Had a small blip last night.

Caleb Smith is decent

LF Corey Dickerson has been a consistently good bat.

They have a LOT of on the cusp or up and coming young players.. Pitchers and positions players. They kind remind me of the Red Sox the year they really sucked, but you could see the talent emerging.. Then the next year they went to the playoffs..

Oh well, you've convinced me. Why didn't you say you had a bunch of vague ******** to paint the Marlins as charitably as possible?

Ok, how about that they have a much better record then our "Hot s***" team. They beat us in our home park with Pearson starting and we only beat them in the 10th with a man starting on 2b with Ryu starting... All the while getting only one start from their #1 starter and being devastated by COVID and not even playing a home game. So, I guess if they suck, we REALLY suck..
