Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 And that probably scores him, f***ing brutal mistake.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I wonder if the windmill at 3rd was waving him to 3rd or not....
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Grichuk single wouldve been 4-4
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 So, what's the ground rule if a ball goes through the giant hole in that stupid, s***** fence they have there? Double I assume? Is nobody going to put something in there to plug that giant hole?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I wonder if the windmill at 3rd was waving him to 3rd or not.... You could see on the replay he went as soon as the throw went home so I think that was on him. Waiving Rowdy on the other hand was the more questionable decision.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 3 base running errors today, nice
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Kids mistakes cost em, 2 runs this game.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 The more you watch this team the more you realize how far away they are from contending. Maybe we sneak into the playoffs because the division looks like it’s going to be pretty weak outside of the Yankees. But you also have to expect the Rays to start pitching well. They just aren’t there. I don’t see it.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 (edited) This game should be tied. Don't worry Vlad I made the same mistake on MLB the Show. Edited August 8, 2020 by BlueRocky

Yeah, if they'd held Rowdy at third, Vladdy couldn't have been thrown out and he'd almost certainly have scored on the single, or possibly on the double play... I mean, that's not the kinda hindsight you can really use, but what could have been *sighs wistfully*

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 We almost certainly have at least one if not two more runs from the baserunning mistakes in this game. The strike-em-out throw-em-out was bad too but in that position Shaw has to make contact if it's a strike so that's more on the hitter.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Vlad reminds me of Jake Virtanen. High end physical tools but fat, lazy and very low IQ
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Is there a reason Montoyo is willing to unload Waguespack arm after a very stressful inning, but Borucki who was cruising had to be taken out after one inning.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Once again leadoff walk after we have a rally and score a run. Come on Waguespack, keep us in this FFS.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Montardo's gotta go He really has been erratic this year. I know it's an odd season, but common sense seems to be out the window with this guy
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Is there a reason Montoyo is willing to unload Waguespack arm after a very stressful inning, but Borucki who was cruising had to be taken out after one inning. Was wondering the same thing. I don’t remember if Borucki has been used a lot recently?

Yes. Because Wags will likely be optioned after the game to get Anderson called up to start tomorrow and they might actually need Borucki and Kay tomorrow with all of Boston’s lefties. Waguespack will not be needed so may as well get as much from him as possible tonight and hope it’s not a disaster
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 It's honestly such a shame that Vlad's weight forced such a quick move to first. He was never going to be an above average defender at the position but he has an accurate cannon for an arm, such a waste at first.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Would be shocked if let Borucki pitch back to back nights. He probably should have stayed in but you could also say using him when they did was a poor decision as well. Either way probably the last time we see WaguesBeak for awhile.

I know, I thought they'd try him in LF, but he ate a lot on the layoff.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Montoyo knows that these guys are all starters that happen to be in the bullpen, and that they are capable of pitching to more than 5 batters, right?

Man we have him for a long time, I'm just as pessimistic as the next guy but this year has been abnormal as f***, Theres nothing saying he cant show up next year in shape after a proper off-season and set season date.

Borucki only threw 21 pitches so it wouldn’t be crazy to see him available for a key lefty matchup if it happens to come along and Kay is already used.

I think it’s the right move this time, Wags was definitely struggling and had already thrown 40 pitches in less than 2 innings.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I know, I thought they'd try him in LF, but he ate a lot on the layoff. He would be a disaster in the outfield with how big and slow he is.

Its on Vlad. They can’t tell him to get in shape they can try to take things away from him. But he will never be in good shape unless he wants it for himself. Which is mind blowing to me that he seemingly doesn’t care. Nobody wants to be fat but eating healthy and exercising is difficult when you’re busy. This guy has access to personal chefs, personal trainers, nutritionists that will set up all his meal plans if he wants. He just orders fast food to his room instead.
