Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 The change up threw Pearson off, got back to making good pitches after the HR
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Man, I miss that "we'll be using roboumps during this season" business from a few months ago. What a happy memory...
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 2-out inning ends on pitch count for Nate, ouch.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Everyone lost their little boners? Stupid plan to try and save the breaking stuff for the second inning vs the top of the Sox line up. Nah its literally one inning lol. He pitched like s*** it happens.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 He was referring to the initial one which garnered a swing and miss. Ah ok that makes sense.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Nice hit by Teoscar up the middle, here comes Fisher. Edit: And Fisher GDP
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Nah its literally one inning lol. He pitched like s*** it happens. Yeah no big deal, learning curve.
Ray Verified Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Nice hit by Teoscar up the middle, here comes Fisher. Aaaaand Fisher grounds into a double play. Atleast he hit it hard.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Yeah no big deal, learning curve. Good to get him a start at Fenway in game that doesn't matter.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Aaaaand Fisher grounds into a double play. Atleast he hit it hard. Fisher was unlucky last year (.244 BABIP). He needs to aim better.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Better 2nd inning from Nate, but he had to dial it way down on the FB velo to throw strikes. 93 MPH on that FB on that flyout, but a good GDP. Nice bounceback.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 MPH are a bit down for Big Nate as well. Ross is probably so stoked to be able to use performance against Nate for making the opening day roster now lol
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Nice hit by Danny Jansen, another one up the middle.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Nice ground-rule double by Bo Bichette runners 1st and 3rd, 0 outs
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I am watching on MLB TV.. All kinds of technical issues.. This sucks. It says weather delay, then this game will start soon, screen is flashing like an intermittent signal. I hope they get their s*** together before the regular season.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Jansen safe on Biggio sac fly! 4-1 Red Sox.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 They got 2 runs back. Danny Jansen hitting 9th worked there.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Still struggling with command for Nate. Weird to see him like this.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 95 upstairs to JD, flyball out at the wall by Teo.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Still struggling with command for Nate. Weird to see him like this. Mechanics seem loose, poor repetition
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Bad outfield play there it looked like
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I’m sure once Nate is built up we will see closer the velocity we were expecting. I don’t think anyone was expecting him to be sitting 94-96 tho. Not that its bad or anything but when you’re hearing high 90’s deep into games in the mjnor leagues and regularly touching 100 or more during starts there is a lot of expectations.

I wonder if it's mostly nerves?

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 He had 98 in the first inning, but lost control of his FB and dialed it down. Velo has never been an issue for Nate. Agreed. I wonder if it's mostly nerves? his command issues could be nerves
