BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 This was a fun episode, the draft will be very interesting on wednesday. I can really appreciate Alan’s skepticism on these prospects, it created very interesting discussions. e.g. Hancock and Gonzales being underrated due to questionable reasons, or how Max Meyer and Zac Veen’s profiles can be seen as scary risky instead of upside. And I really appreciate Mike being there to provide his take on the draft, despite his pc breaking down. This episode was pretty much recorded on a whim with minimal preparation, but if we look past the technical issues there’s a ton of quality discussion here. It was a long and thorough episode, so I’ll go over the pod again and provide some time stamps.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 And John make a very offensive joke that he ended up cutting like a puss First voice on the recording after me making the joke Alan: OMG you have to cut that!

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 First voice on the recording after me making the joke Alan: OMG you have to cut that! I'm obviously not serious when I say that
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Alright, what was it? We were talking about command pitchers being not what you want to target in the draft, and someone said something about Halladay being a command pitcher. We discussed this briefly about how Roy would sit 92-93 but could get to 95 whenever he needed to with ease. Then Alan said something about Roy really knowing what he was good at, and I said “ Flying a plane?”
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 About 5 mins in... 1. If you guys have to tell people you don't have Gonorrhea, I suspect one of you actually has it. 2. Are you regretting saying there is no big difference between picking 5 or 6th this year??
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 About 5 mins in... 1. If you guys have to tell people you don't have Gonorrhea, I suspect one of you actually has it. Who do you think it is? 2. Are you regretting saying there is no big difference between picking 5 or 6th this year?? I mentioned there’s a huge difference between 5th and 6th pick. That one extra loss is the difference when they’re targeting very specific names that could be taken ahead of them.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 1. If you guys have to tell people you don't have Gonorrhea, I suspect one of you actually has it. You missed the joke. That particular intro says, "from four guys who have never contracted gonorrhea, you're listening to the Radio Scouts Podcast with John, Mike, Andrew, Alan, and Nick", which is five people. Thanks for listening!

Yes, to be fair you did say that, I should not have painted with such a broad brush. I think it was John, and someone else agreed.. But this episode was a little more difficult to tell who was who due to internet issues, so John if not you, I apologize in advance

Thanks for listening! Ahhh I get it now... hahahahaha... I will go with Dinger.... At first I thought Boxy, but then I realized, you can't get Gonorrhea from having sex with a Tarantula.. (I Googled it).
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 We did a live reaction recording of the MLB draft on day 1, it was about an hour long. Had some good moments leading up to the no. 5 pick and afterwards. Not sure when it’ll get posted though, will have to ask John.

Ray Verified Member Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 It may not. I think it sucked. Personally, I’d really like to hear it! I want to see everyone’s reaction when Baltimore passed on Martin and as it became apparent he may fall to us.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Maybe just upload it to the youtube channel so it’s not an official episode?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2020 Author Posted June 15, 2020 I didn't know we were recording until like halfway in
