DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Got to catch that, cards are self destructing
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Wow what the hell happened to Marcell Ozuna's arm? He used to have a cannon but that was such a weak noodle arm throw to the plate, after botching the catch on the slide where the ball was literally in his glove.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Why is Soto acting like a 4 year old at the plate...staring down pitcher after a walk lol
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 What a defensive meltdown by the Cards.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Why is Soto acting like a 4 year old at the plate...staring down pitcher after a walk lol That's just what he does, pretty much all the time. It seems to work for him so I'm not going to be the one to tell him to stop.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Stras' change is disgusting.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 What a boring series, Cards getting handled.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Lol Soto, brutal slip and I hope he's okay but what a fall that was.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 This would be a lot more fun if this was somewhat close. Even Rodney can't screw this up.

wk680 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 So the franchise has toiled since 1969 and is now on the verge of their first WS appearance. Surely, this is not just a coincidence that the 'golden boy' is no longer a member of the organization, and they are finally about to take that big step....

HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Anybody find it funny that the Cardinals' pitcher is named Daniel Ponce De Leon?
wk680 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMgH7NmgUWE Yeah but maybe if he stays with the Nats, he gets $280 M. Is he really going to notice the difference in his bank account between 280 and 330 ?! I am sure when he is old and retired and (if that is the case) never won that WS championship, all the money in the world won't fill that hole in his heart. If that hole does not exist, then he is not a true competitor in the first place, and even more so explains the Nats doing better once his cancer left the clubhouse. I hereby suggest that Papelbon got totally railroaded - that b**ch deserved to have his neck wrung.

I didn't even realize the damn fool had accidentally said he wanted to bring the trophy back to DC!! (actually now that I think of it, I vaguely remember that hitting the news). Anyway, it's not that I necessarily dislike the guy, but I do wonder if his 'golden boy' status was actually a detriment to the Nats. Vlad Jr should take note and be humble! Anyway, I think he has already been surpassed by Bo (and possibly Biggio). Time will tell...
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Wow, the Nats have a real shot at winning a title with their rotation. They’ll be rested too since the ALCS will likely go down to the wire, and this series doesn’t look like it will last much longer.

I agree that it would be better if the games were closer, but I really enjoyed watching Strasburg's dominance, the Nats were just having an excellent game all-around except for the one miscue from Soto.

I don't remember when the article was written, but I remember Fangraphs finding that teams that sweep tend to lose in the next round against less rested teams (or something of that nature).
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Love to see the Cardinals get destroyed
Frag Verified Member Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Love to see the Cardinals get destroyed I've had enough of their BS voodoo ways of winning.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 What on earth are the Cards doing?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 Tough inning for Corbin who was thoroughly dominating through 4.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Go Cards! I need some extra games for DFS purposes!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 12 strikeouts for Corbin through 5. Nats starters have been a treat to watch.
