McGuire is doing everything possible in the small sample size to steal time from Jansen lol. Jansen’s starting job should not be secured though. Outside a couple of hot streaks hes been god awful offensively. But on the flip side McGuire was awful offensively his entire Minors career. Maybe they will split time in 2020.

They're already splitting time it seems, likely see this next spring and in Toronto, as you've suggested.

For real? Anytime a pitcher comes into the game after the 5th inning with a 3 run lead or less get credited with a hold as long as they record an out and HOLD the lead.

McGuire could be one of our better position players lol.

 

As it stands now Reese Mcguire and Danny Jansen are both rookies and will total about 3 wins. You could easily see the two total 4-5 Wins in future seasons. Thats pretty damn good. If you get 5 wins out of your catchers, you can overlook a lot of replacement value in the outfield.
