glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 At these make a valid argument, not some dumb takes about shuffling the lineup around is a huge deal. Holy s***, some of you are the most obnoxious homers I have ever seen. If a tongue and cheek sentence about Montoyo playing everyone triggers you this much, you may need to evaluate your life a bit. Wow. At least my Buntoyo nickname was more accepted. I can rest easy knowing that.

I can rest easy knowing that. Fun fact: the Buntoyo Blue Jays have the 9th fewest sacrifice hits in the league. The Astros and Yankees with their powerhouse offenses only have two fewer. The Indians, of whom everyone loves Tito Francona, have the fifth most, nearly triple the amount of the Jays. So yes, your nickname was stupid.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I just hope Alford plays a lot more than Fisher or McKinney. I kinda want to see Fisher play (there is some upside there even if he's a long shot to ever reach it), but yeah, I don't look forward to watching McKinney play. Or Tellez for that matter. Definitely want to see Alford get some AB's. He's out of options next year (I think), so he'll probably be on the 25/26 man roster in some capacity in 2020.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Man, Tellez just missed that.

Fisher has 4 seasons, 135 major league games and is 26. At what point is a spade a spade? I’d much rather have Alford playing, full stop.

I’d much rather have Alford playing, full stop. Alford is 25. Has 18 Major League Games, hasn't been lights out in the minors. At what point is a spade a spade?

I’d much rather have Alford playing, full stop. Fisher debuted in 2017 so no, he doesn't have 4 seasons. Alford is 25 and has yet to even be an even average hitter in AAA, two times around, and he gets injured all the time. Imagine believing this garbage that you're spewing.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Even if he struggles, I'd much rather see a guy like Romano pitch over Jason Adam and his xFIP over 7.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Not triggered glory. Your posts are just annoying and irrelevant, and you make them often. Since you don't know what triggered means, here is a translation of what you just posted: "I'm not triggered......but you trigger me". Like I said, obnoxious homers. With no self awareness either, apparently. There is an ignore feature, by the way, you can use it. You obviously read my posts thoroughly, I'm flattered, but you can choose not to. Just saying.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Even if he struggles, I'd much rather see a guy like Romano pitch over Jason Adam and his xFIP over 7. Romano and Adam aren't really all that different. Good fastball, good breaking ball with at times limited feel and questionable command. Granted Romano has show upper 90s heat before but this hasn't really been the case since his injury.

So yes, your nickname was stupid. I've seen it posted on this forum multiple times, and on Twitter, so you might be alone in hating that nickname. I'm more partial Montoyost, but can use either one depending on the situation. I realize I'm BS'ing with you, but you're taking everything seriously, so I'll stop here.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I'm not understanding removing Romano for Law here unless Romano is on some sort of pitch count restriction.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Fisher has 4 seasons, 135 major league games and is 26. At what point is a spade a spade? I’d much rather have Alford playing, full stop. He has power and can draw walks. Too many GB's and contact issues. So there is good and bad with him. Some times those types can surprise, especially in today's game. Like I said I'm not expecting anything great out of him, but between him and McKinney, it's a no brainer. One has tools/some upside, the other does not. Agree about Alford. He's a long shot as well, but the Jays can afford to take risks on boom or bust types.

You’re right, he has 329 career at bats with a 198, much better. Wow! 18 whole games! It’s almost like having that kinda sample size isn’t indicative of potential or what he could actually do. Unlike Fisher, who’s been garbage, for awhile.

But I’d rather give him a shot and find out, rather than watch Fisher and McKinney be painful.
geebaan Verified Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 That’s the kind of quality 3 pitch at bat we needed there.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Damn I'm actually somewhat intrigued by Teoscar now. Walk rate now at 10%, power has come back, and even a passable OF defensively.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Rowdy runs like he's being pushed back by the wind.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 meh...looked outside to me for Teo.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 His Avg EV is 92.9 MPH since July 1! Yeah I remember he had really good stat cast numbers last season (EV, LA, barrels). Now that is starting to come back after a bad start, combined with a good BB%, and he's playable in the OF. Not a star, but looks like he might be a big league regular if he keeps it up.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
