Governator Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Lots of reasons why the Rays don't draw well, but the MO of their front office plays a role IMO. Casual fans buy tickets, and those fans like having consistent stars to root for. A team that wins 87 games a year on a low payroll by churning through players to win the $/WAR championship is probably going to draw worse than a team that wins 87 games a year and keeps their stars around, all else being equal. Plus cost in marketing, building hype, etc. There is nothing exciting about being a casual Rays fan.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I think the Rays have to be move, but I also question why Montreal is even a thing after how bad they were at drawing fans the last time, and baseball was a lot more mainstream popular back then.

But IMO it should go to Montreal before those two
